Historia
Early one morning on the shore of the Thames, DCI Samuel Owusu is called to the scene of a gruesome discovery. When Owusu sends the evidence for examination, he learns the bones are connected to a cold case that left three people dead on the kitchen floor in a Chelsea mansion thirty years ago. Rachel Rimmer has also received a shock—her husband, Michael, has been found dead in the cellar of his house in France. All signs point to an intruder, and the French police need her to come urgently to answer questions about Michael and his past that she very much doesn’t want to answer.

Jess needs a fresh start. She’s broke and alone, and she’s just left her job under less than ideal circumstances. Her half-brother Ben didn’t sound thrilled when she asked if she could crash with him for a bit, but he didn’t say no, and surely everything will look better from Paris. Only when she shows up – to find a very nice apartment, could Ben really have afforded this? – he’s not there.

edge of your seat thriller
Revisado: 04-18-22
It has been quite a long time since I have read a book like this one. I decided to venture away from my norm and give this a try and I am SO glad I did. The narration was wonderful, which can make or break an Audible selection for me, and the story line was so well written it kept me in constant anticipation for what was next. I have a lengthy commute but I never minded it while listening to this (I actually looked forward to it just so I could hear more!).
If you like intrigue, suspense, plot twists, and being on the edge of your seat almost from the beginning I highly recommend giving this book a try.

Meet Ove. He’s a curmudgeon—the kind of man who points at people he dislikes as if they were burglars caught outside his bedroom window. He has staunch principles, strict routines, and a short fuse. But behind the cranky exterior there is a story and a sadness. So when one November morning a chatty young couple with two chatty young daughters move in next door and accidentally flatten Ove’s mailbox, it is the lead-in to a comical and heartwarming tale of unkempt cats, unexpected friendship, and the ancient art of backing up a U-Haul.

A witty, fun, and moving book
Revisado: 04-01-22
This book has wonderful wit and made me laugh out loud on multiple occassions. There were moments of sadness, with a few tears, but the story is so well written that you can't help but feel as though you are right there beside Ove.

Steamy!
Revisado: 09-26-19
These books are so well written, extremely funny, and this particular one was sultry. The narrator is one of the best I have heard yet for Audible books. You know exactly what voice goes with which character, it amazes me that one person can do so many different voices, including accents! I have yet to be disappointed with any book from this series so if you are looking for something to keep you occupied for weeks then I HIGHLY recommend giving Crossbreed a try!

Favorite story in the series
Revisado: 08-02-19
As a female it is always refreshing to hear a males perspective of things, especially where the heart is concerned, so this was a nice switch to a love story. Now, I listened to this one AND Rogue simultaneously (I would do a few chapters of one then switch over and do those same chapters from Sarah's point of view) so that I was experiencing both sides as they happened...it made it SO much more fantastic! This allowed a full scope of what was going on between the two and I highly recommend it if you have the patience. The narrators smooth voice makes this story move quickly and you never want to put it down. I found myself sneaking listens before bed because I wanted to know what would happen next. If you are in a loving relationship it makes you ponder the other persons feelings and thoughts. It made me love my 'mate' more than I thought was even possible because I was able to look at things a little more from their perspective. Highly recommend this book as a MUST read!

Sucker for a good love story
Revisado: 08-02-19
I admittedly am obsessed with this series. I am a sucker for a good love story and this one has what it takes to fall into that category. Is it a little cheesy at times, absolutely, but my stomach takes the highs and lows with the characters as if I am actually part of the story. The readers lure you in with their voices and you are convinced to stay by the story line. I have yet to be disappointed by any of the books in this series so keep them coming!

Revisado: 05-28-19
This book was riveting. I was on the edge of my seat the entire time. The use of background noises throughout really immersed me into the story. I make up my own words all the time so I loved that the narrator does the same. This was unlike any other Audible book I have listened to thus far. Read from a video diary approach made it more believable and intriguing.

this was not my typical reading but I wanted to give it a try because of the person reading it. Their performance was out of this world. The story itself left a little to be desired but there were times where I found myself feeling like a little kid in a lost forest amongst fairies.

Historia
An 11-year-old boy's violated corpse is found in a town park. Eyewitnesses and fingerprints point unmistakably to one of Flint City's most popular citizens. He is Terry Maitland, Little League coach, English teacher, husband, and father of two girls. Detective Ralph Anderson, whose son Maitland once coached, orders a quick and very public arrest. Maitland has an alibi, but Anderson and the district attorney soon add DNA evidence to go with the fingerprints and witnesses. Their case seems ironclad.

This was a delectable book!
Revisado: 01-03-19
I don't like to hand out five star reviews on a whim but this story and the performers were exceptional. It was easily devoured and I was enthralled the entire way. I found myself empathetic to the characters, engaged with the truth of discovery, fear of the unkown, and unconditional, unbridled love. A book the encompasses the act of transformation and how important it is to be comfortable in ones own skin. A definite must read!
