I bought this expecting schlock and what I got was better written than most of the top sellers in the fantasy category. The characters feel grimey and sharp toothed. The world feels lived in. It’s kind of baffling to be honest. I guess I’m just so used to modern authors throwing prose to the side and making it as accessible as possible. My only complaint is there isn’t more. Hope we don’t have to wait too long
