Have you ever wondered "Why did I do that?" or "Why can't I just control my behavior?" Others may judge our reactions and think, "What's wrong with that person?" When questioning our emotions, it's easy to place the blame on ourselves; holding ourselves and those around us to an impossible standard. It's time we started asking a different question. Through deeply personal conversations, Oprah Winfrey and renowned brain and trauma expert Dr. Bruce Perry offer a groundbreaking and profound shift from asking “What’s wrong with you?” to “What happened to you?”

I loved this book!! I have seen Bruce Perry before in person and have recommended him to many, many parents I have worked with!
I have never had the privilege of seeing Oprah but her part in this was great the way both weave in and out with examples!!
Thank you both for this great work!

Historia
Are you tired of feeling f*cked up? If you are, Gary John Bishop has the answer. In this straightforward handbook, he gives you the tools and advice you need to demolish the slag weighing you down and become the truly unf--ked version of yourself. "Wake up to the miracle you are," he directs. "Here's what you've forgotten: You're a f--king miracle of being." It isn't other people that are standing in your way; it isn't even your circumstances that are blocking your ability to thrive. It's yourself and the negative self-talk you keep telling yourself.

It is short and to the point. He does not flower his words but what he says is to the point, crass with words but he gives you that in the title. Thank you Gary, an encouraging book

Historia
In the tradition of Alison Bechdel’s Fun Home and George Hodgman’s Bettyville, Fremont writes with wit and candor about growing up in a household held together by a powerful glue: secrets. Her parents, profoundly affected by their memories of the Holocaust, pass on, to both Helen and her older sister a zealous determination to protect themselves from what they see as danger from the outside world.

The damage of secret keeping rang loud and clear
She weaved the words and metaphors so well that i wanted to pause and write it down
The story that spells out unacknowledged pain forces an unconscious repeat

Fantastic view of Hitler youth and the brainwashing with hate
Revisado: 07-05-20
My mother was 17 during the war in Germany and her recounting the ignorance of the people what was being done to jews goes right along with this book. The power and control of the Nazi’s. The uncertainness of the future came through so clearly.
I lived the book.
