Plot lines and relationships set up in the first two books begin to domino rapidly becoming intertwined, deeper, creepier, and more spicy as the magical apocalyptic threat continues to build. narrator continues to knock this out of a park with a absolutely stellar performance including tons of dialogue and action with a large cast.

This story follows 2 groups of main characters progressing through 2 different timelines and everything collides at the end. The spice goes up in this book (there is on page sex: 2 scenes that are 2-3 paragraphs - Song of Achilles or True Blood level, not erotica but somewhat descriptive) however both are at the end of chapters so those who prefer to skip can hit to forward button and not miss a ton of plot. Action and dialogue land really well even though the narrator has a full cast to juggle. Super enjoyable listen with urban fantasy featuring not-your-run-of-the-mill story line including living books, golems, nuns with guns, and reality bending magic.

Delivery and timing was great. The reader handles a lot of dialogue expertly and I never got confused about who was speaking.

The Stormlight Archives continue to deliver what many other fantasy series only promise: exciting, thoughtful, fantastic, interesting, complex action backed by solid character and world development. Of the hundreds of fantasy novels I have read these are the cream of the crop.

Would you listen to Legendarium again? Why?

Yes, I really enjoyed the the hero's journey through the different story settings, the full bodied feeling of the world, and the metamorphosis or the alternate earth to this earth. Well worth a 2nd listen!

What did you like best about this story?

The original setting of an alternate Earth that changes slowly to our Earth through the hero's folly. I think this is a really clever twist on the book's setting that I have not encountered before.

Which character – as performed by Robert Rossmann – was your favorite?

Allistar was my favourite. The voice that Mr. Rossmann used fit seamlessly with the description and the dialogue. It really brought the character to life. My one hang up about this story was that the dialogue once or twice sounds a bit forced, but I can't tell for sure if it is the writing style or delivery that doesn't nail it. This only happens in a couple of small spots, though.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

There were several places where I laughed out loud, which is rare for me in a book. I really enjoyed the dry post-zombie-apocalypse humour and the modern literary references.

Any additional comments?

This book reminds me Strongly of Thursday Next with a lot of Jim Butcher's modern, pop culture style. A really enjoyable listen for the adventure-loving geek with a splash of British humour.
