There is a big glitch
Revisado: 05-01-24
The story was fine, I am enjoying this series. However, in the audible version, chapter 8 is a totally unrelated part of a different sci-fi book. So, besides having to get through a chapter of a different book, chapter 8 is skipped!

I enjoyed the puzzle part of this book. The protagonists are likeable and work together well. I am not fond of the narrator, it’s read too mechanically

Historia
Nicolas’s pulse shoots up, and he sucks in a breath. “Are you saying you willingly took the life of another person?” “Yes. God is the reason I killed her. Will you absolve me, Father?” As Nicolas fumbles for his phone to send an urgent text for help, he hears the chair in the other booth squeak, and a shadow passes in front of the screen. His pulse pounds in his temples and he starts to sway, dizziness washing over him. Help isn’t going to make it in time.

Revisado: 07-21-23
This whole series is wonderful, the characters are likeable and the stories, even though gruesome, have hope. The narrator is terrible, the mid pronunciation of New Orleans is glaring and distracting.

Historia
Amanda and Clay head out to a remote corner of Long Island expecting a vacation: a quiet reprieve from life in New York City, quality time with their teenage son and daughter, and a taste of the good life in the luxurious home they’ve rented for the week. But a late-night knock on the door breaks the spell. Ruth and G. H. are an older couple—it’s their house, and they’ve arrived in a panic. They bring the news that a sudden blackout has swept the city. But in this rural area—with the TV and internet now down, and no cell phone service—it’s hard to know what to believe.

Word vomit
Revisado: 08-25-21
This book is written in a lot of pretentious language and nothing happens. There is no ending and when the book stops , you realize that these are 7 hours you will never get back. This is the first time that I have ever left a bad review. I wish I had read the reviews before I started

Breathless
Revisado: 04-16-20
I am saying breathless because I listened to this book on audible. I loved the story, but the narration seems like a fast train, great speed and hardly any stops! No pauses between paragraphs causes confusion, the only pauses are long pauses between chapters. 5 stars for the story though

Sunny with some clouds
Revisado: 10-23-19
I really want to give this book a better review. I am enjoying the series. Skye Dennison is likable and funny. Her fiancé, Wally, is a nice guy , her family is a little quirky and very big. The story itself is suspenseful with lots of suspects and the ending is ........ well, I won’t tell. The love triangle with Simon, Wally and Skye ran its course several books ago, it is getting old and boring. I hope it ends soon because I do want to keep reading this series.

This book accurately describes the role that women played in World War 2. For so long these women lived under the radar, but now more and more stories of their bravery come to light. Yes this is fiction, but not far off he real stories.
