Historia
The New York Times best-selling author heralds the future of business in Free. In his revolutionary best seller, The Long Tail, Chris Anderson demonstrated how the online marketplace creates niche markets, allowing products and consumers to connect in a way that has never been possible before. Now, in Free, he makes the compelling case that, in many instances, businesses can profit more from giving things away than they can by charging for them.

Great read, full of nuggets of information!
Revisado: 10-01-09
Fantastic book, well researched and read by the author. Explains concepts of economics and social science in the most interesting way! The anecdotes that the author narrates are very illustrative of the concepts. Great read-inspired me to start a "free" blog in the hope of getting the fringe benefits that Anderson says can come from offering things to people free.

Historia
Alone and un-tethered, feeling lost in the country he had come to regard as home, Hans stumbles upon the vibrant New York subculture of cricket, where he revisits his lost childhood and, thanks to a friendship with a charismatic and charming Trinidadian named Chuck Ramkissoon, begins to reconnect with his life and his adopted country. Ramkissoon, a Gatsby-like figure who is part idealist and part operator, introduces Hans to an "other" New York populated by immigrants and strivers of every race and nationality.

If you an expat Brit, then definitely read this!

Well-written narrative, reflecting situations in the lives of immigrants from the UK or its colonies to the US. Using cricket as a metaphor, the author examines the dilemmas faced by immigrants in the land of dreams.
Great read!!

Lot of common sense advice, but....
Revisado: 12-28-08
Lot of common sense advice, but probably a book to be read rather than heard. Sounds like my mother telling me what I should be doing-in some well-meaning way, it does help to remind one of how to take care of one's physical and spritual health.
Listening to several web addresses being read out does not make great listening.

Historia
In this stunning audiobook, Malcolm Gladwell takes us on an intellectual journey through the world of "outliers" - the best and the brightest, the most famous, and the most successful. He asks the question: What makes high-achievers different? His answer is that we pay too much attention to what successful people are like, and too little attention to where they are from: That is, their culture, their family, their generation, and the idiosyncratic experiences of their upbringing.

Excellent book; well adapted for the audio format

Unusual take on a topic that is taken for granted. The author's voice enhances the message-highly recommended audiobook-perhaps my best book of the year!
