Historia
The Nazis presented themselves as warriors against moral degeneracy. Yet, as Norman Ohler's gripping best seller reveals, the entire Third Reich was permeated with drugs: cocaine, heroin, morphine and, most of all, methamphetamines, or crystal meth, used by everyone from factory workers to housewives, and crucial to troops; resilience - even partly explaining German victory in 1940.

November 2009. Sergei Magnitsky is led to an isolation cell in a Moscow prison and beaten to death by eight police officers. His crime? To testify against the Russian Interior Ministry officials involved in a conspiracy to steal $230 million in taxes. Magnitsky’s brutal killing has remained uninvestigated to this day. Thrillingly accurate!
Revisado: 10-16-21
To me, as a citizen of ex soviet Bulgaria, this book spoke true and deep. The aftermath of communist rule is very well captured in the peculiarities of everyday behaviour of Russians and how state officials exercise and monetise on their governmental duties.
Respect and admiration for the courageous spirit of Sergei Magnitsky, the author and everyone involved!
