This is the BEST anecdotal medical
Revisado: 09-03-23
This is the BEST anecdotal medical book I’ve ever read. It’s a down-to-earth physician’s account of real life situations. It is much more than just stories. It’s an informative, relatable listen to not just people in the medical field but to anyone who has ever been a care-giver or a patient. As someone who has listened to hundreds of audiobooks for 15 years, I can say this is deserving of 5 stars for the book as well as for the narration. I wish there was an entire series I could read by this author.

Jamie Fraser and Claire Randall were torn apart by the Jacobite Rising in 1746, and it took them 20 years to find each other again. Now the American Revolution threatens to do the same. It is 1779, and Claire and Jamie are at last reunited with their daughter, Brianna, her husband, Roger, and their children on Fraser’s Ridge. Having the family together is a dream the Frasers had thought impossible.

Does not disappoint!
Revisado: 11-23-21
In anticipation of this book, I listened to Written in My Own Heart’s Blood, again, this week! I’m thrilled with the way the story picks up where the previous novel left off. As a long time fan of Diana Gabaldon and the Outlander series, I have anxiously awaited the release of this book! I’m only a few chapters in and will update this review, when I finish. So far, it has surpassed expectations!

Historia
In a not-so-distant future, a deadly pandemic has forced the world into social isolation. Confined to their homes, millions now survive off drone-delivered food packages and online-only interactions. It’s an especially lonely life for John Chambers, a drone shipment coordinator for the monolithic Chum Corporation. Trapped in his dead-end job and having just turned 40, John’s started spending more time grinding in virtual reality MMORPGs than he does grinding for his real-world job--and that hasn’t gone unnoticed by human resources!

Perhaps a bit of “good” propaganda
Revisado: 06-25-21
This audiobook is performed well and it’s entertaining. It does have, perhaps, a bit of “good” propaganda, in that, the characters are recovering from a viral pandemic and are attempting to acclimate into pre-virus life. The storyline is clever. Video game assimilation is used to encourage characters to emerge from isolation and begin to interact socially.

At 85, she isn’t going to leave things to chance. Her end will be on her terms. With one call to a clinic in Switzerland, a plan is set in motion. Just what I Needed
Revisado: 02-04-21
As an audible addict, I have a library of other 1,000 audiobooks and many years of listening under my belt. I have rarely left a written review. This book deserves a standing ovation!
It’s written beautifully and delves straight to the heart of how it feels to be useless and powerless as an elderly person. When a little girl moves next door, Eudora discovers each new day STILL has a purpose, even at the age of 85.
This is a story that will forever hover close in memory.

Raw, gut-wrenching
Revisado: 12-12-20
A raw, gut-wrenching novel about a woman’s struggle with addiction. Leary’s insight into the psychology of the main character’s daily struggle is uncanny. Superb narration adds to the authenticity of the main character. A dose of humor, here and there, offers comic relief for the reader. This is the first book I’ve read by this author and I’m looking for more.

I “WISH”
Revisado: 04-27-19
I “WISH” every child and grown-up would read this book. Attention grabbing from the very first sentence, this book wound its way into my heart. I laughed and cried and enjoyed every minute spent listening to this gem of a book! As an English teacher with 27 year’s experience teaching high school and middle school, this book resonates with so many “real-life” situations that students face. I “WISH” I could place this book in the hands of every student I teach. For those who live in loving environments, it would help them understand the other side of the coin, and for those who live in less nurturing environments, this book would help them see they are not alone and maybe, just maybe, saying “pineapple,” when things get rough, would result in a little less anger and the consequences that often follow. This is a “six” star book and the reading performance is a “six” star, as well.

One of the BEST World War II Novels
Revisado: 03-14-19
I have read many, many books based on World War II. As a teacher of literature, I constantly seek to find books I can recommend to my students to read. This book DEFINITELY makes the list. The novel’s language is beautiful despite the horrific circumstances and subject matter. The reader can easily relate to the character of Rose and instantly feels the shock she experiences as the novel unfolds. I rarely write a review, but I felt I needed to say this book is truly one of the BEST World War II novels I have read. This book will linger in my heart for years to come.

Well done! The changing characters and various points of view, in both the past and present day, was flawlessly done, culminating in a seamless collide of past and present. Loved it!
