Historia
In 1918, after four harrowing years on the Western Front, Tom Sherbourne returns to Australia to take a job as the lighthouse keeper on remote Janus Rock. To this isolated island, where the supply boat comes only four times a year and shore leaves are granted every other year at best, Tom brings a young, bold, and loving wife, Isabel. Three years later, after two miscarriages and one stillbirth, the grieving Isabel is tending the grave of her newly lost infant when she hears a baby’s cries on the wind. A boat has washed up on shore carrying a dead man and a living baby.

Narration did get better
Revisado: 04-20-24
I quit listening to the audiobook after 30 minutes because I couldn’t
Understand what he was saying but someone told me to keep listening because it got easier to understand. I’m glad I did because the accent wasn’t as bad for the rest of the story and it was such a good book

Boring
Revisado: 11-15-22
The reviews were so great on this so I was excited to listen. I kept waiting for the story to take off but it was slow and boring to the end. Narration was great though!

Soooo long and boooring
Revisado: 06-10-21
This book was so long because it gave tons of detail about EVERYTHING. There was so much detail given that my mind would wonder for a lot of the book and it was just downright boring!! It was a hard book to finish but I persevered and...my perseverance did not pay off!!

Too cheesy
Revisado: 02-01-18
This Love story was a little too cheesy especially with their pet names for each other. Felt like this big tough cowboy kept throwing fits over minor things and got kind of annoying.

Good story
Revisado: 10-25-16
I enjoyed the story and the audio was well done. The only thing that bothered me was how the author used the name of the Lord in vain throughout the book. Many school kids have read this through the years and it continues to be a popular book for children but just leaving out that word would have made the book so much better to me.
