Historia
Behind closed doors I try to relax, to unwind in the huge clawfoot bath and forget about my complicated past. It’s hard being the new couple on the street when you’ve got secrets. Because the truth is, my charming husband isn’t really my husband. And I’m not Stephanie Hamlin....

I was a captive audience -- unfortunately
Revisado: 12-11-24
This has to be the most boring and annoying books I have ever listened to. I was listening while driving a distnace so no option to play something else. I could have pulled over but I had to be somewhere. The characters all whine and the story line is just so boring. It was also a tad too predictable. Altogether really annoying..

Would you try another book from R. J. Palacio and/or the narrators?
No I would not. R.J. Palacio's voice was irritating and whiny. Perhaps like a kid his age but annoying. I'm having a hard time like the kid in the story, as are my children, because the voice is whiny.
What do you think your next listen will be?
Theodore Boone the Activist. This is a kid who uses all his God-given gifts to make the world a better place rather than dwell in his own misfortunes (perhaps few, but they DO exist.)
How could the performance have been better?
Get rid of the speaker and put in a regular kid's voice, not a raspy one. And quit whining.
You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?
I think in print it may have been a better book. You avoid the whining and moaning about how life is so hard being so "special." Though, I guess it's there in print too, but not as annoying. Kids with special needs should be depicted with stronger character. This book only serves as a disturbing picture of how hard it is to have special needs.

Good, Fun Listening.
Revisado: 09-09-13
What made the experience of listening to Theodore Boone: The Accused the most enjoyable?
My kids aged 11 loved the reference to previous book of John Grisham and how it flowed into the next book. The author does a neat job of connecting the accused with the actual guilty part. Not scary, so no parts that my kids freak out on. they just hate getting out of the car
What was one of the most memorable moments of Theodore Boone: The Accused?
I think it was time with Ike, Theo's uncle. He gives lots of good leads that make things more fun.
What about Richard Thomas’s performance did you like?
Richard Thomas has a wonderful voice that captures the feeling of the book as if you were there. He speaks slowly when reinforcing or teaching a new concept so my kids have time to let it sink in.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
Dunno
Any additional comments?
This book had excitement, drama, and humor all neatly packaged by Grisham and delivered by Richard Thomas. A really nice combo. We just listened to The Activist and are really disappointed there aren't any other books of his in the series.
