The Adventure Continues

Dark Force Rising is the sequel to Heir to the Empire in the Thrown Trilogy and they do need to be read in order. Non-canon to Disney's Star Wars, this is by far the best series written since the original trilogy. This Disneyphile is very disappointed in their non-canon choice. This book picks up where the first left off and leaves you on a cliffhanger to set up for the third book.

Grand Admiral Thrawn is still waging a long view war while winning individual battles in his cool, calculating non-emotional way. Our slightly insane Jedi Master is up to his old tricks. Mara Jade and Talon Karrde are keeping up their end of the best neutral enemy in the galaxy where anything can be had for a price. Luke, Leia, Han and Lando are flying all over to save the day, save each other, free an alien world from the Empire, and procure the legendary Dark Force battleship fleet for the New Republic's use.

Star Wars fans will be happy to have this unabridged audio book. Very well narrated with all the familiar voices we know and love and many new heroes and villains to have grow on you. Marc Thompson does a superb job with this audio book.

Best Star Wars Series in Three Decades

I am rereading this trilogy. In my opinion, this is the best series written in the Star Wars universe to date. As huge a Disneyphile as I am, I am very disappointed they did not keep this series canon. Huge mistake (though one of many in recent years) on their part.

Timothy Zahn takes characters we know and love from the original trilogy and spins them into a suspenseful and often unpredictable journey through galaxies as the Rebel Alliance tries to start a new government and the Empire attempts to regroup and get back the power they desire. Lives hang in the balance, space battles are waged and Grand Admiral Thrawn is playing a chess game ten steps ahead of the pieces on the board.

If you enjoy audio books, the narrator, Marc Thompson, is spot on in his voice imitation of the famous actors we know and love. I highly recommend this unabridged version of Heir to the Empire

Compelling Audio Book -Overcoming Trauma & Healing

Fierce Wholeness is one woman's journey from a painful and abusive childhood, that led to poor relationships in adulthood and culminated in a walk beside God that enlightened her path toward healing that is still ongoing. This audio book is read by the author herself, and is calm and relaxing for a difficult subject, while conveying her emotional ups and downs.

While Robin's story, struggles and triumphs are her own, you will find moments that ring true in your own life. Her answers might be helpful to you, give you insight and thought provoking ideas to consider, and her pursuit of faith is one we would all benefit from. I found this book both well written and a good reminder, that no matter how perfect people look on social media or at the local family gathering, we all have inner struggles that weigh us down, not easily discernible from the outside, but just as real. Our faith with the Living God can give us hope, shed light on the answers we seek and guide us to be our best selves.

Prayers for God's blessings and guidance for Robin as she continues her healing and for those who listen to her story wherever you are in your own journeys, may it prove inspiring and helpful.

Making It Right is the third book in the Most Likely To series. It can be read as a standalone, but is a bit more fast paced and includes characters from the first two books.

Jo was the rebellious teen to the town sheriff with no Mom in her life but Miss Gina. She loves the tattooed bad boys. Her Dad died to an "accidental shooting" at their family Cabin and Jo never believed it. She became the town sheriff and is now going to take some FBI training to help her in solving her Dad's cold case.

Gil is Jo's perfect tattooed bad boy on the surface. In reality he is undercover FBI and an FBI trainer. They start a relationship and get caught up in each other's case. Lots of plot twists and some suspense and danger wrap up this last romance in this series.

Staying For Good is the second book in the Most Likely To series. It could be read as a standalone book.

Now Zoe is a famous chef. She comes back to her 10 year reunion and needs to make peace with her past. Luke never really got over Zoe, but he isn't interested in repeating the heartbreak. He runs his Dad's mechanic shop now and he is firmly part of the small town community.

This is an add on to a trilogy. A younger brother to one of those main characters. It can be listened to as a standalone book.

Clay has always lived in the shadow of his older brother. He has spent a lifetime trying to get approval from their Dad. He has become a playboy love 'em and leave 'em sort. With one exception, his friend with benefits, Andrea. They met as kids and in college started seeing each other sexually with the understanding they were monogamous when they were together and free to see whoever when they were apart. That worked for many years until suddenly it didn't work for Andrea. She is honest with Clay about her feelings and he doesn't want to change the way things have always been. Will he let Andrea go for good or find out that she means more to him than he thought?

Learning Sasha's Secrets Plus AJ's Mystery

Revisado: 02-07-20

Say It Again is the fifth and final book in the First Wives Series. While Sasha is mentioned in previous books, this one is able to be enjoyed as a stand-alone book.

Sasha was born to a woman trying to trap and blackmail her Russian lover who is married. All it found her was a fast death. Sasha moved to foster homes but a benefactor eventually placed her in a German boarding school that taught weapons, body combat and other skills in addition to an education. She has used her skills to trace her father and make him pay for killing her mother. After he is dead, she is at a loss for a life direction and returns to her old boarding school.

She runs into AJ at a bar near campus. His sister also attended Ritcher but she was recently killed with three bullets to the back of her head in D.C. Now another of her roommates from school is dead and a third one is missing. AJ wants answers but he isn't getting them from the school headmistress or the police.

Sasha and AJ wind up teaming up together to find out what happened. While they do develop a connection, this book spends more time as a suspense/thriller than as a romance. It has some sweet moments toward the end as Sasha allows her heart to thaw a bit more.

Faking Forever is the fourth book in the First Wives Series. Books 1-3 are Shannon's three best friends, so it gives you backstory, but this can be enjoyed as a stand-alone book.

Shannon is the classy and soft spoken person in these four friends. She was an Alliance marriage for the Paul, who became the elected governor of California. They became physically intimate during their arranged marriage. Shannon grew to love him, but he served her divorce papers and moved on when their agreed time came. So Shannon got her money to start her photography studio and a house but left with a broken heart. She hadn't been able to move on and hasn't dated at all in the last three years.

Now she is almost 35 and feeling her biological clock ticking. She has a wedding to photograph in Mexico and she is thinking about staying extra time to find a one night stand for her baby daddy. That falls apart when the bride leaves before the wedding, she finds the groom insanely drunk and she is left to help out. Over the next few days they get closer, but agree not to consider dating for three months.

Will they be able to work things out after they get home? Is their super hot chemistry going to be able to wait for 90 days? Enjoy finding out!
