I didn’t read the genre so I didn’t realize this was a romance and one I figured it out I was to far into the book to turn around. I’m glad I stuck with it even though I don’t care for sex scenes. I just fast forwarded through those parts.

Historia
In the near future, advances in medicine and quantum computing make human cloning a reality. For the wealthy, cheating death is the ultimate luxury. To anticloning militants, it’s an abomination against nature. For young Constance “Con” D’Arcy, who was gifted her own clone by her late aunt, it’s terrifying. After a routine monthly upload of her consciousness - stored for that inevitable transition - something goes wrong. When Con wakes up in the clinic, it’s eighteen months later. Her recent memories are missing. Her original, she’s told, is dead.

Universal message
Revisado: 02-12-25
This book was a little slow but still very interesting. I didn't figure it out until the end but even then I didn't understand.
This book's overall message about mankind being ready for such technology ever. Cloning or AI or biological warfare etc are not things humans can be trusted with. IMO

Tragically Beautiful
Revisado: 02-08-25
I'm so glad I took a chance on this book. I was nearly moved to tears several times when listening to the tragic events the characters endured. I gave the story 4 stars because I don't like when characters take it upon themselves to do things that most people would never do.

Love the Originals !!

A very good retelling
Revisado: 02-03-25
I was expectant the whole time. I'm not very familiar with the original story yet I still thoroughly enjoyed this story. The characters wetter interesting even though I would have liked a little more about their childhood but for a short book it was as detailed as it could be. If this became I series I would keto listening as long as they were as good as this one.
I'm starting to enjoy more of these Audible productions.

This Audible Original is very moving and uplifting. It's sad that this was recorded almost 5 years ago and every word is still relevant. I'm sure I'll listen many more times.

Slow start and a little confusing
Revisado: 12-28-24
I am a fan of John Marrs. I've had this book for a while and finally decided it was time to read. The book had an interesting beginning but then slowed down as the author was building the background. I was confused about who was who and when things were happening quite often for three first half of the book.
It could have been less confusing if the author consistently keep each chair to one character's perspective. Overall, it was good and worth my time.

Funny and Cute
Revisado: 12-23-24
Really, it's hard to go wrong with Tracey and Taraji. I'm still not sure who voiced every character but I loved hearing Ms. Whoopi and Ms. Phylicia. Iconic!!
Two best friends who haven't really been best friends in years take a holiday trip together to the Caribbean and get stranded on an island after their poorly run boat excursion crashed. The two under pressure have to deal with trying to survive and the stress of their failing friendship.
The story is told after the fact in an interrogation room with a not serious police officer. The back and forth between T & T is great. They have terrific comedy talent. It's almost like physical comedy.

James Patterson leads you into the darkest recesses of the mind with this chilling, immersive audio thriller. We meet Brent Quill, a frustrated actor trying to take his game to the next level. Well that was dark
Revisado: 12-10-24
So I don't usually like what I call overly produced audiobooks. However, I knew what I was getting into when I picked this production. The story was gripping. The performances sounded like I was listening to a live tv show. My son asked me if I was watching or listening to something.

Historia
When the call came it seemed like the answer to my prayers. My career as a voice actor had been over for months and me and my little girl Scarlet were living back at my mum’s place. I felt like a failure professionally—and with Scarlet having problems at school, as a parent as well. So, when I was asked to narrate a new book by disappeared novelist Philippa Roberts I jumped at the chance, even if it meant leaving Scarlet with my ex, Hugo, for a few weeks. Hugo, with his perfect new home and his perfect new girlfriend Saskia. But this isn’t a dream come true. It’s a nightmare.

Didn't see that coming
Revisado: 12-08-24
I thought I had it figured out but I was wrong. The performance was great. The story, now that I've finished, I realize was a bit misleading. I'm not sure I could have ever figured it out before. I'm still left with a few questions. Overall, a good book but not great. I'll definitely listen to more as I find K. L. Slater a much better option than Freida.

No visitors. No nights spent away from the apartment. No disturbing the other residents, all of whom are rich or famous or both. These are the only rules for Jules Larsen’s new job as an apartment sitter at the Bartholomew, one of Manhattan's most high-profile and mysterious buildings. As she gets to know the residents and staff of the Bartholomew, Jules finds herself drawn to fellow apartment sitter Ingrid. When Ingrid confides that the Bartholomew is not what it seems, Jules brushes it off as a harmless ghost story...until the next day, when Ingrid disappears.

Aggravating but ok
Revisado: 11-30-24
I'm always astonished at how characters in stories are so confident yet utterly clueless at the same time. The main character in this book made me roll my eyes many times. She was given rules and almost immediately began breaking them.
She oscillated between believing something sinister was happening and thinking there was no way. After everything she experienced in her short life, she lacked the gut instincts is expect her to have.
Even though I knew who the "bad" characters were early I didn't figure out their intentions. So, because of that I'm giving the story 3 stars.
