Historia
Is bourbon the quintessential American liquor? Bourbon is not just alcohol - the amber-colored drink is deeply ingrained in American culture and tangled in American history. From the early days of raw corn liquor to the myriad distilleries that have proliferated around the country today, bourbon is a symbol of the United States. This course traces bourbon's entire history, from the 1700s, with Irish, Scottish, and French settlers setting up stills and making distilled spirits in the New World, through today's booming resurgence.

A good listen

Loved it. I got from curiosity and because it sounded a little quirky. It is well worth a listen. Very interesting and fantastic narration. Each lecture is almost the right length for a morning walk. I will be listening to this again so that I can pick what I missed on the first go round.

I love this book.

I have read this book many times many times since I first bought it in the early '70s. Listening to this as I walk in the morning is like having a friend with me. Excellent narration. I was not terribly fond of the 'voice' of Avon but that is the only complaint. I will be listening to this many more times.
