Historia
Bean's past was a battle just to survive. He first appeared on the streets of Rotterdam, a tiny child with a mind leagues beyond anyone else. He knew he could not survive through strength; he used his tactical genius to gain acceptance into a children's gang, and then to help make that gang a template for success for all the others. He civilized them, and lived to grow older. Then he was discovered by the recruiters for the Battle School.

it didn't wrap up the story! ** contains spoilers*
Revisado: 03-31-19
by my mini rant please know I really did love this series/story. shadow series is much closer to ENDERS GAME in the style of writing than the story line that follows ender.
this was the end of the shadow series and it doesnt bring up anything of the conclusion of the 9th missing child OR what happens to bean and the kids. they all just dissapeared into space. all the things I most cared to hear most about in the shadow series didnt have a solid conclusion in the shadow series. ahh.
Orsen Scott Card doesnt make a clear list of books or order - but bean and his kids will obviously have a series to themselves so I'll go figure out which of his books are those. think he is not fair to his fans by not giving them a path to read the books along. I get that you can follow enders or beans path through the series and I guess it doesnt matter which one of those you read first. but there were characters I cared about at the end of both series that I have no clue what happens to them and no idea what books I need to read next to find out. great author - but a terrible help to fans. just saying!

Historia
Earth and its society have been changed irrevocably in the aftermath of Ender Wiggin's victory over the Formics. The unity forced upon the warring nations by an alien enemy has shattered. Nations are rising again, seeking territory and influence, and most of all, seeking to control the skills and loyalty of the children from the Battle School. But one person has a better idea. Peter Wiggin, Ender's older, more ruthless, brother, sees that any hope for the future of Earth lies in restoring a sense of unity and purpose. And he has an irresistible call on the loyalty of Earth's young warriors.

great story - audio was very soft

in love with the shadow series. this book in particular was recorded with the audio at almost a whisper. I could myself turning both my phone and speakers in my car all the way up and still having difficulty hearing while driving. I love the voices and recognize them from previous books but seemed noticeably more faint in this production.

great story - some small glitches in editing
Revisado: 03-19-19
noticed in many parts of the story clips with a different voice were inserted like it was edited after. many times it was for single word (mostly in reference to the Hegemon).
story was so great and detailed but felt like it ended abruptly. so much great dialog and build up between Achille and Petra - expected more from achille in both this story and in Enders Shadow.

Historia
A mesmerizing, behind-the-scenes business thriller that chronicles how Sega, a small, scrappy gaming company led by an unlikely visionary and a team of rebels, took on the juggernaut Nintendo and revolutionized the video-game industry. In 1990, Nintendo had a virtual monopoly on the video-game industry. Sega, on the other hand, was just a faltering arcade company with big aspirations and even bigger personalities. But all that would change with the arrival of Tom Kalinske, a former Mattel executive who knew nothing about video games and everything about fighting uphill battles.

A bit confusing towards the end
Revisado: 04-16-18
I really loved the story and the characters - but the end of the story seemed jumbled. Characters started jumping around to companies and new characters were thrown in - it got difficult to keep story straight. The problem for me was events were starting to change quickly - and they were all anchored around people (whos perspectives were constantly changing).
Being a lover of 80s pop culture and videogames, and being in the marketing field I was excited for this book. I learned alot - but am left a little puzzled and the last 3rd of the book....
Performance was fantastic. great variation of voices from a single reader.

Nikola Tesla (1856-1943), credited as the inspiration for radio, robots, and even radar, has been called the patron saint of modern electricity. Based on original material and previously unavailable documents, this acclaimed book is the definitive biography of the man considered by many to be the founding father of modern electrical technology.

not a great introductory book on Tesla
Revisado: 08-19-17
This book was comprehensive of Tesla but I found myself getting lost in the story quite frequently. i knew very little about him and was interested in his biography because he was such an interesting visionary especially if his age.
it was hard to get a good tine perspective of when the events were happening - they jumped back and forth from events quickly. When talking about his inventions they went enough in depth that you would definately loose focus but not enough where you could explain the invention to someone else.
the book also tried to explain his relationships with women and fellow inventors, difficult to follow because the stories didnt feel very linear.
think if you had additional information on tesla this book would help tie it together. for just a curiosity pick it was not a very enjoyable read. story felt choppy.

Books about the Kennedys are legion. Yet missing until now has been the exploration of the bond between Jack and Bobby, and the part that it played in their rise and fall. Richard D. Mahoney gives us Jack and Bobby in all their hubris and humanity, youthfulness and fatalism. Here is American history as it unfolds. The Kennedy Brothers is a fresh and masterful account of the men whose legacy continues to hold the American imagination.

great narrator- slow moving story
Revisado: 05-03-17
The story was very good and gave a good family background and relationship of the Kennedy brothers. But as someone that knows little history surrounding the kennedys the story was hard to follow.
I found myself getting lost quite frequently - especially in the beginning where the backgrounds of joe, jack and bobby were all being told at the same time. I started confusing them, as the story focused more on Jack, then just on Bobby it was much easier to follow.
Think this is a great book if you already know background on the Kennedy family, just a little jumpy if you do not know about Kennedys involvement in Cuba, Bay of Pigs, and trying to crack the mafia.

Historia
A mysterious island. An abandoned orphanage. A strange collection of very curious photographs. As our story opens, a horrific family tragedy sets 16-year-old Jacob journeying to a remote island off the coast of Wales, where he discovers the ruins of Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children. As Jacob explores its abandoned bedrooms and hallways, it becomes clear that the children were more than just peculiar. They may have been dangerous. And somehow—impossible though it seems—they may still be alive.
