Historia
Alice has everything, I mean everything. A stunning suburban house, Instagram-perfect in its soft grey walls and textured neutrals. And then there's her handsome husband, with his flat stomach and that sexy sleeve of tattoos he keeps hidden for his well-paid job in the city. The PTA mamas can't stop staring at him, and who can blame them? And let's not forget her three adorable, well-behaved children. Meanwhile, here in Boston, I'm struggling to start a family with my husband Ollie. Our marriage is suffering, and I feel so isolated all the time.

Just left me a bit depressed about humanity. All the characters were horrible - no joy or optimism and the fate of new generation was pretty grim

In the summer of 1862, a group of young artists led by the passionate and talented Edward Radcliffe descends upon Birchwood Manor in rural Oxfordshire. Their plan: to spend a secluded summer month in a haze of inspiration and creativity. But by the time their stay is over, one woman has been shot dead while another has disappeared; a priceless heirloom is missing; and Edward Radcliffe’s life is in ruins. Over 150 years later, Elodie Winslow, a young archivist in London, uncovers a leather satchel containing two seemingly unrelated items.

Good but feels rushed in the ending
Revisado: 09-21-18
I adore Kate Mortons books they make me cry, make me feel and normally I am bewitched by them. This book does not have the same appeal and I am so sorry. Joannes narration is as always amazing, but the story has too many stories within stories that never get resolved - maybe thats the intention but it does result in a constant flicking back and forth.
The concept is brilliant and the setting are part of my childhood so i so wanted to fall in love with this book - but honestly Kate Forsyths Beauty in Thorns by far addresses the era of art and photography more poignantly.
It is still a lovely book but just not on the same par of The Forgotten Garden and Kates previous books which I recommend constantly to friends.
I just didn't feel this book finished itself to many weird loose ends and lost focus somewhat
Still adore Kates writings

Revisado: 06-26-17
This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?
I wouldn't recommend for purchase its to airy fairy
What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?
concept interesting, but self blame not positive
How could the performance have been better?
narrator dreadful
What character would you cut from See Me Not?
school board
Any additional comments?
it was so trite dealing with a serious issue this book was not particularly good, but what was worse was the snobby narration - just really inappropriate why get a good english narrator to pretend to be irish! it was really hard to listen to the in between stuff which made the book real. will not load down any other books with this narrator unless written by enid blyton or Julian Fellowes!!
