Time travel sci fi.
Revisado: 02-12-19
These books do a fun job with sci-fi and time travel. I really enjoyed the concept of "Timelines" being unchangeable and infinite. Throw in nanobots and aliens and its a great mix. I did find my mind wandering at times, but im not sure if that was the story or the narrator. Speaking of the narrator, suddenly in the second book the Doctor sounded like he was very congested. I thought i had just missed a part of the text explaining this but then i realized it was the narrator doing the Doctors dialog, semi-distracting. Overall, i would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys sci-fi and time travel. I will probably check out the rest of the books in the series after listening to these ones. A great conclusion to a great story. Couldn't have asked for more.
Narration was beautiful. Mr Reynolds made this audiobook a performance. I'm bummed that it's over, but excited to see what Pierce Brown has next.

Historia
The first great war of Ovira is over, and the most hated king in centuries is dead, but his nephew still lives. However, Basen had nothing to do with the destructive war his uncle started. In fact it was his uncle who exiled him and his father to the territory of their enemies, where Basen's dreams of becoming a legendary mage now fade, as he must work all day just to eat. His only chance at regaining some semblance of the life he thought he would lead is to join an elite school that trains, houses, and feeds a thousand new young men and women each year.

Can't wait to read the rest!
Revisado: 01-18-16
Would you listen to Kin of Kings (The Kin of Kings Book 1) again? Why?
I've already listened to it twice actually. Up and coming fantasy usually leaves much to be desired, but not this one. I enjoyed the story very much and look foreword to reading the rest. It's refreshing to read a fantasy novel in which the main character is a Mage not a farm boy or sword welding brute.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Kin of Kings (The Kin of Kings Book 1)?
The plot twist at the end. It totally took me by surprise.
Any additional comments?
I couldn't ask for anything more. I can't wait to read the next books and learn more about the other races and places.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Yes. This book brings a very interesting twist to the post apocalyptic genre. The author came up with an original idea for a very unoriginal setting, and I was never bored when I read this one. I was disappointed when it ended, not because of the ending but because I wanted more. However I did want more backstory on what happened to the planet and I'm curious if the same things happened to the other parts of the globe. I'm sure these things will be explained in forthcoming books. A very good read. There could be so many more series based in this same world.
Who was your favorite character and why?
The main one of course! Second favorite was the cave dweller, hopefully he gets his share of attention later.
What does David Robison bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
His narration was perfect. He surprised me many times by performing different accents and sound affects awesomely. Great choice of a narrator for this series. I would love to listen to him again.

Discover This Hidden Jem
Revisado: 12-22-15
Would you listen to Destiny again? Why?
I plan on it. The mix between Mission Impossible and National Treasure captivated me.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Stone. Everyone can relate to a down on his luck "crime of opportunity" type character.
What about Jeffrey Kafer’s performance did you like?
He kept me involved throughout the reading. I never found my attention wandering.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
Follow the clues to the biggest American/Mexican Secret of the last century.

How is this not a bestseller!?
Revisado: 12-11-15
What made the experience of listening to The Compleat Crow the most enjoyable?
The HP Lovecraft references. I've always enjoyed HPLs stories but was always bothered by the characters who could not mention the horrors they saw for one reason or another. This book is the exact opposite! Titus Crow fights the monsters HPL invented.
What did you like best about this story?
Titus Crows resolve. He never gave up, and was always ready for anything.
Which character – as performed by Simon Vance – was your favorite?
Easy. Titus Crow. The narrator did a great job in making this character come to life. I felt like I was along for the ride the whole time.

What made the experience of listening to It the most enjoyable?
The narrator, hands down best performance ive ever heard. This story came to life.
What did you like best about this story?
The narrative of Pennywise, it was performed so well. To be able to narrate evil must take an extreme amount of skill. After some parts I wanted to start a shocked slow clap.
Have you listened to any of Steven Weber’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
Yes I have, he is always great but this one is above and beyond.

Makes You Think
Revisado: 12-08-15
Would you consider the audio edition of Chariots of the Gods to be better than the print version?
Yes, this audio version has an Audible exclusive interview with Erich von Daniken. This interview is great and it is in von Daniken's own voice not read by a narrator.
Who was your favorite character and why?
The astronauts of course!
Any additional comments?
This is the first book in many by the author. His other stuff is worth the read. He is such a humble guy, and he isn't afraid to admit when he is wrong.

Historia
It was a dark and stormy night when Mary Crane glimpsed the unlit neon sign announcing the vacancy at the Bates Motel. Exhausted, lost, and at the end of her rope, she was eager for a hot shower and a bed for the night. Her room was musty, but clean, and the manager seemed nice, if a little odd.

This was very good. I did not expect Norman Bates to be such a relatable character, who doesn't love a psyco you can feel bad for.

By far the mother.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Um wow. Based on the title and the cover art I was kind of expecting a romancy I Robot type story. Not true at all. This is easily one of the best books I've read in quite some time. I've read too much Dune, Asimov, and Terminator type stories to ever really feel compassion for AI, but this was close. There is something about a man at rock bottom struggling to make sense of a messed up world that everyone can relate too. Check this one out if you've got the time folks. The performance by the narrator was absolutely top notch, high quality audio drama.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Love in the Age of Mechanical Reproduction?
Any of the moments with the detective. He had such a great way of thinking and speaking. This book is worth the read just to hear his thoughts.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
