Historia
Vermont, 1950. There's a place for the girls whom no one wants - the troublemakers, the illegitimate, the too smart for their own good. It's called Idlewild Hall. And in the small town where it's located, there are rumors that the boarding school is haunted. Four roommates bond over their whispered fears, their budding friendship blossoming - until one of them mysteriously disappears.... Vermont, 2014. As much as she's tried, journalist Fiona Sheridan cannot stop revisiting the events surrounding her older sister's death.

Really gripping mystery!!
Revisado: 08-27-24
I was genuinely glued to the story from beginning to end. Nothing was obvious, but the answers all made sense in the end. Rare for mysteries these days that so often bend themselves into pretzels to create convoluted plots just for the sake of a big reveal.

Historia
As the mountain town of Trafalgar, British Columbia, shakes off a long, hard winter, famous photographer Rudolph Steiner arrives to do a feature on mountain tourism. Steiner is accompanied by his assistant and sexy young wife, but he has another reason for the visit: to reconnect with the woman, Eliza, who left him 25 years ago to marry another man: Trafalgar City police sergeant John Winters. When Steiner is found dead in his luxury hotel room, suspicion falls upon Eliza.

Overdone villains and melodrama
Revisado: 07-16-24
To avoid spoiler alerts I will say only this much. The main character in this book is subjected to so much personal loss and fear as to be absurd and psychologically punishing. Added to that in the four books of the series up to and including this one that the main character in the space of less than a calendar year in a small town has twice been kidnapped, twice groped by crazed men, and thrice been in a life and death confrontation with cartoonishly evil villains.
If you like over the top suspense spun on flimsy plot twists then have at.
