Historia
Sprout Bradford has a secret. It's not what you think he'll tell you he's gay. He'll tell you about his dads drinking and his mother's death. The green fingerprints everywhere tell you when he last dyed his hair. But neither the reader nor Sprout are prepared for what happens when Sprout suddenly finds he's had a more profound effect on the lives around him than he ever thought possible. Sprout is both hilarious and gripping; a story of one boy at odds with the expected.

I wanted to like this more than I did
Revisado: 05-15-13
I am really conflicted about this book. I LOVED the first part. That all-consuming-must-have-more-please-don’t-let-it-ever-stop kind of love. I was charmed by this green haired boy who, while smart as hell, wasn’t as annoying and stuck up as most of the really smart YA characters. Then I kept listening, and the second half of the story hit and the magic slowly started to bleed away. When the end came, I had been making frowny expressions long enough that my face hurt.

I just found my new favorite zombie
Revisado: 05-15-13
I don’t exactly have words for how much I enjoyed this book. The brain eating had me squealing in horror/delight and I laughed out loud on more occasions than I can remember. Angel is a great character, one who has been knocked around by life a few times, but now she’s determined to get it together and make something of herself. And she turns out to be a lot smarter than anyone, including herself, gave her credit for. She is snarky, hilarious and tough as nails when she needs to be.
My Life as a White Trash Zombie is a fun, surprisingly lighthearted mystery that lays out all the clues on who the serial killer is, as well as who turned Angel, for you to follow. It all ties up nice and satisfyingly, while leaving enough left over for the continuation of the series. And I will most definitely be continuing.
Now, I have never been to the American South, but this is how I imagine people there sound. Allison McLemore does a wonderful laid back drawl that pulled me right into the story and kept me there. The more I listened to it, the more I found myself drawing out my own words when I spoke. I could listen to Allison read forever.
