After surviving the Spire and opening their Second Gates, Iro and Emil are named Heroes of the Fleet, their faces on posters across every ship. But with the benefits of notoriety, comes a dangerous new responsibility. The Raider Fleet, not content with stealing their food and murdering their people, demand ownership of the wing. Great vocal performance and gripping story. Good pacing and fun characters, the world continues to expand and the lore and world building enhances the experience. Curious to see the future for Emil and can’t wait for book 4!!

Historia
Spensa made it out of the Nowhere, but what she saw in the space between the stars has changed her forever. She came face to face with the Delvers, and finally got answers to the questions she’s had about her own strange Cytonic gifts. The Superiority didn’t stop fighting for galactic dominance while she was gone, though. Spensa’s team, Skyward Flight, was able to hold Winzik off, and even collect allies to help with the cause, but it’s only a matter of time until humanity—and the rest of the galaxy—falls.

Cliffs notes of the cliffs notes
Revisado: 04-22-23
I don’t mind that this exists, I love the trilogy and ended up buying many of his other series that I have yet to listen to yet because of it. This novella however so so short it begs the question of what the point was. Not detailed enough to justify selling it and the idea that I may have spent a whole audio credit on it is absurd. I paid like $3 on Amazon instead which still seems kinda steep considering. It’s 45 min long, 30 for my listening speed. The idea seemed so interesting and I wanted to see more of the century blades story and it’s almost to rushed to be enjoyable at all.

Historia
When the great red star Calamity appeared in the sky, some believed the end had come. They were right. Calamity created the Epics: humans with incredible powers they didn't deserve. They could have saved mankind. They could have lifted us into harmony and prosperity. Instead they burned. They slaughtered. They conquered. And then they ruled. Jax has learned all of this the hard way. Orphaned at an early age, he's spent most of his childhood training to be a Reckoner - determined to find the Epics' weaknesses, unlock their secrets, and protect those of us who are still left.

Great addition to the reckoners series
Revisado: 12-31-22
I was a bit cautious going in as the reviews seemed pretty mixed. My wife and I just finished lux and it was a great story with good characters, interesting moral dilemmas and a fun team. The only thing I’m bothered by is that it’s clearly setting up a sequel and there’s no news about when or if it’s happening. Definitely recommend if you’re a fan

Historia
American author Richard Connell wrote many novels, stories, and screenplays, but today is known primarily for his fascinating story, "The Most Dangerous Game", which to this day continues to be widely anthologized and read. The two main characters are and American big-game hunter who finds himself stranded on a remote island, and a Russian aristocrat who is also a hunter but, it turns out, one has some very strange ideas about that "sport".

it's been done so many times since and thankfully in more interesting ways, this was quite the story when it first came out I'm sure but I'm afraid it doesn't hold up that well over time

Historia
Almost all accounts of D-Day are told from the Allied perspective, with the emphasis on how German resistance was overcome on June 6, 1944. But what was it like to be a German soldier in the bunkers and gun emplacements of the Normandy coast, facing the onslaught of the mightiest seaborne invasion in history? What motivated the German defenders, what were their thought processes - and how did they fight from one strong point to another, among the dunes and fields, on that first cataclysmic day?

Eye opening
Revisado: 08-06-18
Incredible to hear the other side of the war. I enjoy WW2 history, Band of Brothers is one of my favorite series and I always liked learning about it in history class. I've read a few autobiographies of on the run Jews and I must say that I was fascinated to hear the other side of the war. To hear the reasoning behind the Nazi soldiers and to hear their thoughts during the invasion gave a whole new interesting perspective to the Allied assault. I cried during one of their stories. Truly worth the time and money. My only critique is the sometimes silly sounding accents done by the reader.
