Kind of Disappointed

I was surprised at the number of subjects not covered. in Vivek's Wikipedia page he calls himself a Nationalist and says he'll rule by fiat; why weren't those important points discussed? The item he had removed from that same page about him taking a Soros scholarship. He claimed that money came from the Paul Soros foundation. But that's not wholly true, and that hasn't been addressed either. I REALLY want to like Vivek, but there's something fishy going on here.

A Long-time Favorite

I read this book a dozen times, but to hear someone else read it was better. The characters were read exactly right.

Narrator was bored

This is one of my favorite Nora Robert's books. So much feeling, so many emotions. Yet the narrator read the whole book as if she just wanted to get through it. It was full of monotones and sentences read with emphasis misplaced.

Unabridged?

This reading isnt unabridged. Excellent story, I love these Dakot books. My only issue with the narrator is she's not great with male voices. Not every male is so gruff. Bob was a kind man, as was Joshue but both have terribly angry voices. And once Matt settles into his fate, he softens too, but the narrator never softens him. The book IS abridged and necessary characters aren't developed enough.. Nonetheless, I'm sure I'll listen to these books on repeat!!

Abridged!?

Nowhere in the description does it say the book has been gouged. It would be a sweet story if I hadn't read the book several times, but they cut out so much there's no character development. what author would allow this? I'm saddened by this. it was one of my all- time favorite books.

Better than the movie

Narrating vs. Story Telling

This series was almost as painful to listen to as the second book of the last box set. There's a difference between narrating a book and story telling. Narrating is simply reading the book. Story telling is making you feel like you're experiencing the story. They should hire J. Scott Bennett from the first two box sets to finish it. At all costs. Raven's story in particular should have been a tear-jerker, but because the book reader's voice was so monotone, it was just a teeth-gnasher.

Terrible!

I love, love, love this series. Then came the narrator change and boy o boy it's a bad one. What a disappointment! Now I'll never know what happens in Ben's story. I'd give it one star but Audible keeps changing it to 2.
