The author may know a lot about menopause but she doesn't spend much time sharing actionable solutions to the problems menopausal women are facing. This book is just her grandstanding against the patriarchy, the medical community (which is white-supremacist, racist, and patriarchal), and the pharmaceutical industry (which also has all of the above-mentioned evil characteristics). I wouldn't care that much except I bought the book thinking it was going to help me out with my hot flashes and weight gain. I found her politicking annoying and repetitive. She's clearly working out some issues, but at the reader's expense. I wish I had read the other reviews before purchasing. Buyer beware-you will not get help for menopause from this book!

I'm amazed that this narrator has a job. She sounds like Alexa giving me directions through Google maps. All her inflections are opposite that of natural human speech. Patricia McKillip's writing is so lyrical and engaging and this horrible woman ruined the book for me. If I ever buy another audible book I'll be sure to watch out for this narrator. Even if I like the author I won't by a book narrated by her.
