Revisado: 04-05-25
I read this as a kid in the early 2000s and I absolutely loved it then and I still love it now. I love the world of magic Diane Duane has created.

Historia
The Last Unicorn is one of fantasy’s most revered classics, beloved by generations of readers and with millions of copies in print. Revisiting the world of that novel, Beagle’s long-awaited Hugo and Nebula-Awards-winning “Two Hearts” introduced the irrepressible Sooz on a quest to save her village from a griffin, and explored the bonds she formed with unforgettable characters like the wise and wonderful Molly Grue and Schmendrick the Magician.

Extremely let down also TRIGGER WARNING sexual assault
Revisado: 12-27-24
I re read the last unicorn and immediately picked this up to keep the feelings going and for the first part of this story I absolutely loved it. It was so nice to dive back into the last unicorn world even if it was from someone else’s perspective. After that time skip it became extremely boring and felt like a completely different world. I also have to say big trigger warning for sexual assault. I absolutely cannot stand it when men use r*pe to propel a female character forward in a story. It’s disgusting not creative. From that point on the story was a bland monotonous blur and I really wish I didn’t waste my time listening to it. The narrator also read the main characters lines with the same cadence the whole book with this annoying high inflection at the end of every other sentence.
Extremely let down and with the whole sexual assault trope throne in I’m not really interested in reading any of his other works.

Sinner. Villain. Ruthless. These are wicked names the Prince of Envy welcomes. They remind him what he isn’t: a saint. And when a cryptic note arrives, signaling the beginning of a deadly game, he knows he’ll be called much worse before it ends. Riddles, hexed objects, anonymous players, nothing will stand in his way. With a powerful artifact and his own future at stake, Envy is determined to win, though none of his meticulous plans prepare him for her, the frustrating artist who ignites his sin—and passion—like no other.

Poorly written smut
Revisado: 07-11-24
I wish I could give this book zero stars. The world building is so weak, the characters aren’t likable, the story is drawn out and boring and the “romance” feels forced and overly smutty for no reason. I have like 6 chapters left and I couldn’t finish it. It’s so poorly written. Use your credit for a book that actually deserves it. Huge thumbs down.

Historia
When Martha Einkorn fled her father’s isolated compound in Oregon, she never expected to find herself working for a powerful social media mogul hell-bent on controlling everything. Now, she’s surrounded by mega-rich companies designing private weather, predictive analytics, and covert weaponry, while spouting technological prophecy. Martha may have left the cult, but if the apocalyptic warnings in her father’s fox and rabbit sermon—once a parable to her—are starting to come true, how much future is actually left?

So utterly boring
Revisado: 02-02-24
I’m so glad I finished this book so I never have to pick it up again. I was so excited for an amazing heist story and ended up listing to hours and hours of sermons. Yes tech is bad we know. 85% of the book is waiting for something to happen and get interesting and then when it finally does you realize you missed the cool heist part in exchange for following a paranoid survivalist as she hides. UUUGH. I’m obviously sour about this. The idea of the story is really cool but the perspective we get to see it through is so utterly boring. If I wanted to listen to a cultist I’d go back to church.

Just as magical as I remembered
Revisado: 07-18-23
I first listened to this audiobook when I was 10 by checking out from my library back in 2000! Yep that means it was on cassette! I listened to it about a dozen times back then and recently remembered it. I’m so glad it was on audible. Grace Chetwin’s writing and narration are magical. This book is a wonderful blend of cozy and fantastical. Highly recommend to anyone who has kids who love fantasy.

Historia
Tamsyn Muir’s Gideon the Ninth unveils a solar system of swordplay, cut-throat politics, and lesbian necromancers. Her characters leap out of the audio, as skillfully animated as arcane revenants. The result is a heart-pounding epic science fantasy. Brought up by unfriendly, ossifying nuns, ancient retainers, and countless skeletons, Gideon is ready to abandon a life of servitude and an afterlife as a reanimated corpse.

GAY NECROMANCY IN SPACE
Revisado: 06-27-23
Seriously gay necromancy in space can you get any cooler? I absolutely recommend this book. Ngl there were a few places I had to re listen too because I didn’t catch a few things and the cast is so large I had a hard time keeping track of who was who BUT other than that it was incredible. Gideon is hilarious and such a badass.

I couldn’t even finish jt
Revisado: 06-27-23
I tried listening to this book three times and I just couldn’t finish it. I got to chapter 23 and was just so incredibly bored. I wasn’t attached to any of the characters and the world building and overall dialogue between characters felt childish. I really wanted to like this book. It’s definitely a case if don’t judge a book by it’s cover.

Terrible worst than book one
Revisado: 03-22-22
I was hoping this book would help me get over how horribly written the first book was. NOPE! This book is filled with bland characters and terrible YA romance. The author writes terrible cliche scenes and over uses tropes. So glad I’m free from this mess. I will not read any more of her books.
It also didn’t help that the narrator used an overly breathy voice with childish inflections. The whole experience was so annoying.

AMAZING
Revisado: 01-06-22
From the first few minutes of this story I was instantly hooked by it's rich discription of this fantasy world and the magical blood lines in it. As queer non binary person I was thrilled to have an asexual non binary character to relate to. Trust me when I say you'll love this book. The characters will tug at your heart and make you invest in all of their personal stories.
