Historia
On a spring morning in 1951, 11-year-old chemist and aspiring detective Flavia de Luce gathers with her family at the railway station, awaiting the return of her long-lost mother, Harriet. Yet upon the train’s arrival in the English village of Bishop’s Lacey, Flavia is approached by a tall stranger who whispers a cryptic message into her ear. Moments later, he is dead, mysteriously pushed under the train by someone in the crowd. Who was this man, what did his words mean, and why were they intended for Flavia? Back home at Buckshaw, the de Luces’ crumbling estate, Flavia puts her sleuthing skills to the test.

Hands down my favorite of the books so far, I can’t wait to see how the series evolves from here.

Perfect, I can’t wait for more
Revisado: 08-24-23
If you liked Ann’s other books, you’ll like this too, I almost didn’t listen to this due to the negative reviews which indicated it was a story that goes nowhere, and too is overly focused on trans/non-binary issues. Those reviews could not be more wrong. The explorations of gender identity are not the major plot line, but are a welcome presence, and as a cis het male I can say I enjoyed them greatly. Narrative wise,, there is a full and satisfying plot arc, and though it resolves the the characters journey, the next book in the series can’t come soon enough.
