There is little doubt that the inerrancy of the Bible is a current and often contentious topic among evangelicals. Five Views on Biblical Inerrancy: Audio Lectures showcases the spectrum of evangelical positions on inerrancy and facilitates understanding of these perspectives, particularly where and why they diverge.

Helpful

This audio lecture series is very good. Though I had encountered a variety of positions on inerrancy through works such as Millard Erikson’s “Christian Theology,” it was nice to hear different scholars give a fuller presentation on the subject than what I had read before.
Michael Bird and Kevin Vanhoozer’s perspectives in particular were really interesting. If you are looking to expand the parameters of your personal theological understanding, or find ways to think creatively about inerrancy (which can be a rigid subject), these audio lectures are worthwhile.

I was drawn to this course because I myself teach social studies at the high school level. Because Dr. Allitt also teaches history, I figured I could pick up a few content-related teaching strategies. I was not disappointed.
This course was developed to be versatile and useful for many teaching content areas though. I’m certain that I would have learned something even if I was a math or science teacher too.
Biggest things to be aware of:
1. The brunt of the content is directed towards teachers engaged in college seminar classes with lecture style. With the exception of maybe a few lessons, I don’t suppose much of this class would be relevant to a highly differentiated elementary classroom.
2. There are several parts of the audiobook which are almost comical because the teaching company clearly used the audio from their visual course and put it out as an audiobook. For the most part, this is not a big deal. However, there are several parts where Dr. Allitt will be interviewing people, the audio will make a break, and the narrator will switch. There are also parts where Dr. Allitt will refer to an image and direct your attention to a PowerPoint or image as well, which is obviously not there in this format.
Overall though, I really enjoyed this production. Dr. Allitt has several unique insights which are helpful and engaging. I definitely recommend this for anyone who is interested in expanding their pedagogy.

Historia
Nearly everyone in the Western world is familiar with the stories in the book of Genesis. Its language is simple. Its powerful sentences are short. And its messages glisten with clarity. But is it possible that the understanding of the book of Genesis we've all grown up with isn't as complete as we'd like to believe? That its deceptively simple sentences and surface appearance hide from contemporary readers a purposeful and intricate structure designed to let its depth and detail and implication resonate with the readers and listeners of its own time?.

Excellent Course
Revisado: 04-03-19
I found this course to be very helpful and to the point. Dr. Rendsburg explores several different interpretations and translations of Genesis and is enjoyable to listen to. The way he weaves the history and literature of numerous cultures together is also very impressive. This has definitely been one of my favorite Great Courses–I highly recommend it.

Historia
In 1922, Count Alexander Rostov is deemed an unrepentant aristocrat by a Bolshevik tribunal, and is sentenced to house arrest in the Metropol, a grand hotel across the street from the Kremlin. Rostov, an indomitable man of erudition and wit, has never worked a day in his life, and must now live in an attic room while some of the most tumultuous decades in Russian history are unfolding outside the hotel’s doors. Unexpectedly, his reduced circumstances provide him entry into a much larger world of emotional discovery.
