A well-developed story
Revisado: 12-23-19
I have both read and listened to this story. First, let me say that the writing is well-done in that the characters are developed and the storyline never lags. The only concern I have with this story is the overtly sexual scenes in what is written like a christian romance. I would hesitate to recommend the book without advising others of that.

A Different Take on a Mail-Order Romance
Revisado: 05-31-19
Receiving a credit, I chose to listen to and review Amelia Adam's book, that was part of the American Mail-Order Bride Series. I've read many of the 50 books that were part of this series. This one, however, was one I'd missed.
I expected Tabitha to be a mail-order bride. I was pleasantly surprised that instead of the heroine being a mail-order bride, she is a young woman headed home in defeat. The mail-order bride in the story is actually a complication for the hero and heroine. I liked the creativity of that plot twist.
What I most loved about this book wasn't the romance, which was quite nicely done, but actually the growth that was apparent in Tabitha. Going home again is an important turning point in this young woman's life and the author's excellent writing make this time in the heroine's life vivid for the reader/listener.
Though I don't care for the whispering that the narrator seems to do, it was appropriate for the book. The narration allowed me to imagine the story and I did enjoy it.

Secrets are told, so that with time, they may be discovered. Were Betsy Wheeler’s father and brother criminals? The sheriff, Noah Sommers, intends to find out and arrest them. Betsy finds her mother’s diary, and is confused by the entries because they didn’t make sense at first. When she finds the key to the entries, she discovers more than she’d ever imagined. Things were far from what appeared on the surface.

Sweet and wholesome romance with lots of action!
Revisado: 05-10-19
First, let me say that if you enjoy sweet romance then you need to check out this series. The stories in it have all been fantastic. Though this one has a few gaps in time I found disappointing, the characters are memorable and the plot is so engaging that I stayed up way to late because I had to finish it.
The narrator has great enthusiasm as she reads and adds drama. This isn't the first book by her I've listened too. That said, I really didn't enjoy her attempt at a German accent. Otherwise, her interpretation was excellent and kept me listening.
I did receive the audio book from the author and am leaving an honest and voluntary review.

One of my new favorite audio books!
Revisado: 03-27-19
I absolutely loved this book. The narration was easy to listen to and voices were done very well. I forgot there was a narrator and at times thought I was listening to a radio drama or some such thing. Leonor Woodworth is quite talented. The plot sucked me into the book. I suffer from anxiety disorder and could easily identify with the heroine's struggle. The presence of a child as a main character in the story added charm to an already fantastic novel. I highly recommend the book to anyone who enjoys historical romance--not just those who read sweet romance or western romance. I received this audio book for free and am giving an unbiased, honest review of what is a fantastic novel that I will listen to again in the future since I enjoyed it that much.

A book I will definitely listen to again!
Revisado: 03-13-19
After finishing this audio book, I thought, "That was so much fun!" The narrator has a soothing voice that is easy to listen to. I could easily keep track of which character was speaking. That, I've found, is not true with all audio books. The story itself was entertaining and heart tugging. I don't blame Lydia for wanting to adopt an orphan. Molly, the little girl, was so endearing and fleshed out as a person that I wanted to take her home too. There was a hint of intimacy in the book, just like I enjoy. Nothing graphic or embarrassing. It was beautifully and tastefully written.
The christian message of God guiding our actions and steering us is one that I found thought provoking. I also was challenged by the idea of forgiveness that is demonstrated. Both themes are developed well in the book.
I received this audio book through Audioboom. Still, I listened because I was intrigued by the description and the series. This is my honest review of a fantastic book done artfully by a talented narrator.

It's those quiet ones you have to watch out for!
Revisado: 02-21-19
Daisy is the fourth daughter and fourth book in the Brides of Seattle series. She was also shown as so shy in the other books that I wondered how the author could even write a romance for her. Wow! What a romance!
I love books with mail-order brides and this one didn't disappoint. Because she is shy, Daisy decides to marry a man she's never met. (Eli, the groom, was actually a likable secondary character in another of Ms. Osbourne's books, Mail Order Motherhood.) The chemistry between the couple is fantastic. Yet it's Daisy growth in confidence and maturity that adds a delightful element to this romance. The book's plot covers several months and is definitely a well-planned out and carefully crafted story.
Tiffany Williams' narration brings it to life and adds well-thought out interpretation to the lines of dialogue through her voice inflections. She creates individual voices for each characters so that I found it easy to understand which character was speaking, even if it wasn't explained in the book's text. A Fantastic job as always, which is why she is one of my favorite narrator's.
(I did receive the audio book from the author. However, I voluntarily listened to it and reviewed the book honestly.)

A Chinook Indian by heritage, Dawn was orphaned and given to a white family as a slave. They raised her like one of their own, alongside their daughter, Laura. Dawn soon finds herself falling for Jake, who recently moved to Silverpines, following his brother from Texas. Jake gets to know Dawn well and soon realizes he has fallen in love with her. The catch? Though society had come a long way, it still held prejudices against Native Americans and the whites who married them.

Great adventure and sweet romance!
Revisado: 02-08-19
The heroine is someone first introduced in another book by Barb Goss, Wanted Horsebreeder. I liked her in that book and admire her tenacity in this one. It is an adventurous and sweet book. The only thing I didn't like was that the narrator made her sound whiny. She is anything but so I wished he had interpreted her character better with his voice inflections.
