Awful! Both the story and reader. I love werewolf and vampire storis and enjoy a little romance added in to them. But, I could not even finish this book. This story is for the person who just wants back to back graphic sex scenes. You get about 2 minutes of story, then 10 minutes of sex. Again, 2 minutes of story and 10 minutes of sex just slightly different to the 20 times before. The sex really interferred with the story. It got to when I started hearing the all too predictable sex scene coming up, I found myself yelling, "Oh, come on! Not again!" I tried several times going back to the story, but it was the same thing. The reader's accents are horrific, too!!! I will never read another story by this author and will make sure I do not get any more books read by this reader.

Winter is coming. Such is the stern motto of House Stark, the northernmost of the fiefdoms that owe allegiance to King Robert Baratheon in far-off King's Landing. There Eddard Stark of Winterfell rules in Robert's name. Far to the north, behind the towering Wall, lie savage Wildings and worse - unnatural things relegated to myth during the centuries-long summer, but proving all too real and all too deadly in the turning of the season. Yet a more immediate threat lurks to the south, where Jon Arryn, the Hand of the King, has died under mysterious circumstances....

This is a good story, but I could not get past the reader. I did not even finish the audible version and went to strictly reading the story. My low rating is strictly due to the reader.

I skipped through about the first 13 chapters and kept trying to hang in there, thinking others had thought it was a good book. There were some entertaining parts, but I regret having gotten this book. The reader is very good, but the story really dragged on and on for me.

When this book was finished, I felt cheated. I didn't feel there was enough meat to the story. It was a bit strange in the beginning, but finally started rolling along. Then, all of a sudden, it was finished. I did enjoy seeing the female character grow and experience the world, but it wasn't enough for me. The reader was fair and I would have liked to hear more emotion from him with the characters.

Dead Until Dark: Sookie Stackhouse Southern Vampir
Revisado: 09-05-10
Well, I must say that I warmed up to this story and even more to the reader. The reader does a great job at a southern drawl, which at first I could hardly tolerate. But, I got in to the character of Sookie and started enjoying the reader. The story is cute because of the Sookie character. At first I didn't think I would like the story and no way would go for the next one. But, after finishing, I am still a bit reserved, I think because of the strange relationship between a human and a vampire. I love vampire stories, but this one is very different. I'll try the next book and see....

Lieutenant Commander Matthew Reddy, along with the men and women of the USS Walker, have chosen sides in a war not of their making. They have allied with the Lemurians - a mammalian race whose peaceful existence is under attack from the warlike, reptilian Grik. The Lemurians are vastly outnumbered and ignorant of warfare, and even the guns and technology of Walker cannot turn the tide of battle.

This is another great tale with Jane Yellowrock. The author creates a strong, female character, who also is vulnerable in some ways. There is enough intrique and action to keep you interested. The story is developed well. I enjoy the toughness and sometimes softness of the main character. I look forward to future stories with Jane Yellowrock.

Dragon Haven
Revisado: 09-05-10
This was a pretty good book and I found the characters were well developed. I wish the dragons were different, being a dragon lover. I was hoping the story was more about them, but it wasn't. It was a decent story and one I hope that will develop more about about the dragons in following books. The reader was good and was able to use different voices for different characters, which I like. The story did drag from time to time and I wish there was more action in it. If you have dragons in a story, there is usually action! Don't plan on too much with this story. The dragons were not very likeable at all, which disappointed me.

I kinda enjoyed the first book in this series and decided to try another one. I'm not sure if it was worth it or not. Some of it was fun, but I have trouble with the main character. I decided this is the last of the series I will read, since I just can't tolerate the story being wrapped around a spoiled brat. It's hard for me to believe the story when you have this loose cannon of a character that supposedly is extremely important, but who is allowed to misbehave and act so immature. If one grew up in this type of situation, I don't think they would turn out to be a flighty brat and I just can't listen to that character any more.

OK, I just didn't get it. Another book that I tried and tried to hang in there with. But, I grew so bored and lost. I finished it, but I now wish I hadn't wasted my time. The reader is excellent, as aways. Seeing that Simon Vance was the reader is what made me give this book a try. In quite a few instances, I found myself lost in the story and not following what was going on.
