Why not a Pulitzer?

In the course of my long life, and my penchant for being a compulsive reader, I must have read a thousand books. Some were awful, others were wonderful. I can only give this Craig Johnson installment of his Longmire series my opinion of “magnificent”. Johnson weaves this tale like a priceless ancient (yet modern) blanket. Each color and pattern lending its own element to the whole. A disparate warp and weft as Basketball, Native culture, murder, and adolescent angst are written by this author unlike I have read in this genre. I have not cried at the end of a mystery novel until now. I am afraid that, unlike this author, I don’t command the words to adequately convey this book’s reading experience.. The readers must discover its brilliance themselves. I beg, please do not hesitate to do so!

At His "Roguish" Best

Where does Rogue Warrior: Domino Theory rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
Marcinko & DeFelice rate up there with Clancy and Cussler, with added humor andan attitude only arrived at by having "been there and done that".
What other book might you compare Rogue Warrior: Domino Theory to and why?
Clive Cussler's "Oregon Files" books. Similar action and an equally (although fictional) engaging main character.
What about Peter Ganim’s performance did you like?
Well read, good pacing, understanding of Marcinko 's own delivery, and a pretty good grasp of accents. Doesn't make an integral female voice sound like a transvestite!
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
Not written with that emotion an intended result.
Any additional comments?
Simply pure escapism. When I desire erudite prose, I choose another author. When I want good fun, fast action, and irrepressible manliness "Demo Dick" does just fine.

I would love to listen to selected passages, but I am unable to find a way to navigate. I feel this is particularly important for an audio Bible.
