Historia
Told from the point of view of the men who waged this steel-shattering battle, The Last Stand of the Tin Can Sailors captures Navy pilots attacking enemy battleships with makeshift weapons and sacrificial valor, a veteran commander improvising tactics never taught in Annapolis, and young crews from across America rising to an impossible challenge.

Clearly one of my favorite books to date!! Vivid details of the actual naval combat as it progressed interwoven with a myriad of details regarding the background and build up to the engagements. The author is not only a well skilled wordsmith, but is an expert military historian. Praise for both a well conceived story line and an innate ability to bring excitement even to mundane topics necessary to link each sequence of events.
