Historia
It’s not easy making the career jump from office-supplies-store middle manager to heroic interdimensional adventurer. At least, Jason tries to be heroic, but it's hard to be good when all your powers are evil. He’ll face off against cannibals, cultists, wizards, monsters...and that’s just on the first day. He’s going to need courage, he’s going to need wit, and he’s going to need some magic powers of his own. But first, he’s going to need pants.

This book received mixed reviews and I almost skipped it. I'm glad I didn't. The story was superb. Chet and Bernie really do solve these cases as a team.

Book 5 is even better than the best!
Revisado: 12-26-15
If you could sum up Keys to the Demon Prison in three words, what would they be?
Gasp Twist Unbelievable
What did you like best about this story?
The demon Navarog's secret! And the unicorn Bracken's secret.
What does E. B. Stevens bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
All the voices of the characters were amazing. The brilliant, sultry Vanessa, the Irish accents of the clowns Newell and Dorin, the slithery slurping voice of the troll Nero, the groveling dying voice of the demon Graulas. The stuttering lovable Gavin, a Knight of the Dawn. All of these voices gave us visuals of the characters that live on. Thank you!
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Of course! It was hard for all of us to turn it off and wait until we could be together as a family to listen to more. We'd say, "No listening ahead!" But of course, all of us did!
Any additional comments?
As a parent, I think Fablehaven is an amazing series. So many ideas of good and evil and of how to balance these forces. Ideas about trust and betrayal. There are very mature ideas that kids grapple with in listening to this book. Good becomes evil, and evil transforms into good. Who can you trust? Such hard lessons, and so real to life.

Couldn't stop listening
Revisado: 12-26-15
Where does The Magic Thief rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
Second to the Fablehaven series.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Con. I like the way he changed from being a pickpocket thief to being a wizard's apprentice.
Have you listened to any of Greg Steinbruner’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
This is the first Greg Steinbruner performance we've listened to.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Yes! We awoke to find our son listening to this audiobook. He'd been listening all morning!
Any additional comments?
This audiobook is great for the whole family. We enjoyed listening together in the car and in the kitchen.

A Scary Fate for George and Edie
Revisado: 12-03-14
Would you consider the audio edition of Stoneheart to be better than the print version?
Yes, because Jim Dale's reading is brilliant.
What other book might you compare Stoneheart to and why?
It's a bit like Dragon Rider by Cornelia Funke and also like Magic Thief by Sarah Prineas. It's much more frightening that Dragon Rider with all the details of war and fighting. Magic Thief also is super scary, but contains more details about magic.
What does Jim Dale bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
Different voice to every character.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
When George realized his loyalty to Edie
Any additional comments?
I love this book. I could not stop listening to it. I'm a ten-year old boy that loves fantasy and science fiction, and I thought this book was amazing.
