I liked the previous books...

I am not sure I will be able to finish this one. I am certainly going to check the reviews in detail before considering additional books in the series. The writing style and narration of this book were noticeably different and not in a good way.

Nope, he did it again and ruined this book.

It's okay, it has potential but fails to deliver

Finn is a hard character to like. He does not behave like an older father who is grieving the loss of his wife and trying to reconnect with his daughter. Nor does he act like a pivotal figure in the field of artificial intelligence. The narrative is told from Finn's perspective and largely takes place from within the Awaken Online game world. The characters often behalf as if the world outside of the game does not exist with no in-narrative explanation for this behavior This made some of their decisions particularly hard to understand, and I often found it breaking my suspension of disbelief. There were elements of the story that I enjoyed, but I often found it wallowing in self-pity and torture. I struggled to finish this book, and I am not sure I will start on the next one.

The last two hours of the story are not in order. The transitions between the chapters suggest this was not intentional. I was enjoying it until this point.
