but for me personally, I feel like they way he broke things down in this book and a new way to think about breaking habits hit well for me. as someone who gets overwhelmed with having aillion mental tabs open, his take on bite size changes for a bigger goal, and other takes, feels like it'll be beneficial. I did enjoy this book, and I would recommend it to friends. take what you need, leave what you don't.

as much as I loved this entire series, I can't bring myself to rank any of them 5 stars. I feel like they could have been done better sure but I still am happy with what I got. these will end up shelf trophies for sure.
This one in the series hit pretty hard, esp when I'm married to someone who is a recovering addict. Lana Has a great way of bringing in real life shit into a soft fantasy world, hiding real life advice and messages within it. Medium stakes kinda vibes, like what's happening is big stakes but they get handled comfortably and efficiently. Or like, eating chips... Empty calories, it's so good and you don't get full. Also your not stressed as things are going down like usual in other books. It also shows just how much trauma and mistrust I have in myself because at every turn I'm just waiting for someone to backstab or betray one of the main character in each book of this series (which never happened) lol.... Am I damaged? Probably.
Thanks for writing a great story, I hope these continue for a long time and we just keep popping around the town to different main characters and their lives lol bc my bowl is now empty, and I want more chips.

I enjoyed this one so much, and though I really enjoyed the first one book in the series also, I personally liked this second one better. I connected with the fmc more so it just hit me deeper. I love all the characters and it was honestly just a beautiful book. I wish I had more to say but I don't lol sorry, it was just a really nice and fun easy read. solid 4⭐
I wish I started this serious in the fall lol

this should have been two books.
I almost loved this book. I started to really enjoyed it at the start but then about 3/4 of the way thru it started to develop holes and inconsistencies for me. also felt suuuuper rushed around this point. like there was so much building and development and then everything all at once was happening, and ✨poof✨ it was over. also... that ending .....??! seriously? most unbelievable part of the story was having that 5 day old witch do all that. it got kinda sloppy towards the end and it's such a shame.
I personally feel like she should have ended it with the cliff hanger and then did a second book. this story feels like it needs to be a duet. with the way all the details had been done in the first half, it would have made for a much better and compelling story. this left me feeling kinda bummed and unsatisfied. I did love these characters so much tho 💗 it was still a good heartwarming story.

As one of the few witches in Britain, Mika Moon knows she has to hide her magic, keep her head down, and stay away from other witches so their powers don’t mingle and draw attention. And as an orphan who lost her parents at a young age and was raised by strangers, she’s used to being alone and she follows the rules...with one exception: an online account, where she posts videos "pretending" to be a witch. what an unexpected 5 start read
Revisado: 03-14-25
I went into this with zero expectations and was happily surprised at how wonderful it was. this felt like a modern Mary Poppins but with witches and it made me little heart sing. it felt so good to read. i loved these characters so much, they all had such depth and character, with a beautiful display of diversity. this is the found family in long for. ughh, I just couldn't put it down.
a perfect pallet cleanser 💗

The Spellshop vibes (imo)~
• Cottagecore
• Mystical creatures
• Belle from Beauty and the Beast fmc, but sassier.
• 2000's movie Chocolat, but a bit less confident/suave mmc.
• Kissin' Kate Barlow's love interest, Onion Sam from Holes, " I can fix that ", kinda sweet man.
• Magic 🪄✨
Someone please find me this island so I can move there IMMEDIATELY.
It was just so sweet and funny. It made me tear up so many times just bc it was so heartwarming, I was bursting from the seems. It was inclusive, diverse and said things I needed to hear. Totally inspiring for the heart and spirit.
This is a straight up FEEL GOOD book. I loved it so sooo much.
The ONLY critic I have is that the time line is wonky. Like they try to make us believe this all happened in such a very short amount of time or maybe they just didn't think people would notice or question the lack of time gaps haha but I definitely noticed. Didn't take away from my love for it tho.
I will be buying this book for ALL my friends so they can feel just as good as I did.
It's like the warmest hug you didn't think you needed. And with the state of the world rn, we ALL need it right 🥹🙃
This will be added to my "break for comfort in case of emergency" book list 💗💗

this wasn't my favorite out of the three but I still truly enjoyed the ride. I also really appreciated how respectful Brynne was with tarot and how accurate she was with its representations. it's nice to see these things used as proper examples in ways that are true and helpful instead of harmful.
I loved these characters but I feel like it was a bit rushed and could have been better with a bit more.
overall, I love this world and all it a characters 💗

Revisado: 02-19-25
dang, going into this book I really didn't think it would be my favorite of Ali Hazelwood's work so far, but here I am! pleasantly proven wrong.
as always, Ali writes the best cozy reads. and I really appreciate how much detail and knowledge she puts into her stories. she feels like such a respectful writer.
I really enjoyed this entire book, and although I wanted to shake Olive, I loved both these main characters so much, and the side ones. I honestly feel like after I sit with my feels for a bit, I may come back here and rate this book it higher lol
ohhh, and that bonus chapter with Teddy Hamilton on audible?! 🥵🥵 dang instead. Thank you Ali, for blessing all of us with that. May your coffee (or caffeine bev of choice) always be made perfectly and that your side of the pillow is always cool 💗
side quest - speaking of audible,
I did really appreciated the beginning of this book when they say who the narrator's are, they didn't just say, "narrated by this lady and this dude", like I usually hear but then I wait the whole time just to find out i don't actually hear him until the last chapter. Instead, they said "narrated by Callie Dalton and bonus chapter read by Teddy Hamilton". so, I'm grateful for being spared that irritation this time around haha. and, I believe thank you again, to Ali for that?? (idk how it works) 👏👌

it was a nice read. Ali Hazelwood's book just hit the spot between my normal reads (fantasy/dark romance mostly). her books are always fun and banter is HUGE for me and she always does a good job with it. you'll catch me smiling and laughing to her stuff
