Historia
In this award-winning Audible Studios production, Trevor Noah tells his wild coming-of-age tale during the twilight of apartheid in South Africa. It’s a story that begins with his mother throwing him from a moving van to save him from a potentially fatal dispute with gangsters, then follows the budding comedian’s path to self-discovery through episodes both poignant and comical.

Wonderful Story
Revisado: 11-03-20
I loved this book. It was narrated by the author himself which added more depth because he added his own feelings to the story. Trevor is funny and I just love him.

Historia
Tiffany can't avoid being funny: it's just who she is. But The Last Black Unicorn is so much more than a side-splittingly hilarious collection of essays - it's a memoir of the struggles of one woman who came from nothing and nowhere. A woman who was able to achieve her dreams by reveling in her pain and awkwardness, showing the world who she really is, and inspiring others through the power of laughter.

I loved this book. I’d unsuccessfully attempted to read it several times before because I waited until
I got in the bed and I was not a very good audience asleep but I’m now an independent contractor and I spent a lot of time in my car so BOOM. I thoroughly enjoyed Tiffany’s testimonial. I also appreciated hearing her voice while listening. God bless u Tiffany. You’re amazing!!

Historia
Two years ago, to everyone's surprise, Dillon Whitfield Black, the secret son of Reverend Curtis Black, boldly moved back home, married a woman named Raven, decided he was going to become a minister, and then founded a church right in the center of his living room. Today he's pastor of a 1,000-plus-member congregation, and new members are joining weekly. Sadly, behind closed doors Dillon is far from being a saint. He has become more like the man his father was 30 years ago - consumed with money, power, and lots of women.

My book club read this book and only a couple of people were able to finish it. Because of its size I thought listening would be easier. Not so. Story and performance was decent so I gave 3 stars.

Good Story Line

This was actually a good story. I liked the fact that it kept me engaged. The rhythm was good. It had a few slow spots that didn't warrant a rewind, since I listen while at work and might get interrupted with work, but all in all, I will recommend this book to my book club members.

As a man, he faces the frightening possibility that this murder victim was himself a killer. Not A Good Choice For Me
Revisado: 01-22-14
This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?
Someone much older.
Has The Forgotten Man turned you off from other books in this genre?
Yes - I thought switching to a murder mystery would be a nice change of pace, but if I had to use this book to make a final determination, the outcome would be fatal.
How could the performance have been better?
The storyline could have been better.
If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from The Forgotten Man?
The dream sequence.
