Historia
Emma and Ariella, neighbours in one of Sydney’s most exclusive suburbs, appear to have it all—perfect homes, perfect husbands, perfect lives. But they both know dark secrets lurk beneath the surface and shallow waters can’t hide Ariella’s. Now she has been found murdered. Her daughter filmed the killing. Not knowing what she’s filmed, Emma’s daughter Kiki innocently uploads footage of Ariella’s brutal death. Emma fears the worst—the killer will know what she and Kiki have seen. Their safe suburban lives no longer exist.

Great narrator! The fast pace and short chapters ramps up the fear and unease. This kept me wanting to know what came next.

Historia
Across Italy there are many half-empty towns, nearly abandoned by those who migrate to the coast or to cities. The beautiful, crumbling hilltop town of Becchina is among them, but its mayor has taken drastic measures to rebuild―selling abandoned homes to anyone in the world for a single Euro, as long as the buyer promises to live there for at least five years. It’s a no-brainer for American couple Tommy and Kate Puglisi. Both work remotely, and Becchina is the home of Tommy’s grandparents, his closest living relatives.

Great narrators! I’m so glad I flipped to audio. The story is a bit slow to start but nice and creepy and gross after Part 1.

But for Gwen’s daughter Connie, there’s just something about Paul that rings alarm bells from day one. He’s a little too kind, a little too involved…Worse still, Gwen seems to have fallen under his spell.

Historia
Historians have long told the story of America’s birth as the triumph of Jefferson’s democratic ideals over the aristocratic intentions of Hamilton. Chernow presents an entirely different man, whose legendary ambitions were motivated not merely by self-interest but by passionate patriotism and a stubborn will to build the foundations of American prosperity and power.

Wanted the full story behind “Hamilton” and couldn’t be happier
Revisado: 01-04-21
As with many others, I saw the musical “Hamilton” on Disney+ this summer and was enthralled. I had to learn more about him. What better way than to listen to the book that inspired Lin-Manuel Miranda?
The history of Hamilton and many of the founding fathers is fascinating. It’s exactly what I wanted to learn. And if you think you know it all because you saw the musical, not at all. There is so much more than what could fit in the musical and much of the musical is overly simplified retelling of the much more amazing true story behind the musical.
At 38ish hours, this audiobook takes a commitment but the reader is excellent and it’s worth the time to learn so much more about Hamilton’s substantial role in how our country came to be.
