Historia
Alicia Berenson’s life is seemingly perfect. A famous painter married to an in-demand fashion photographer, she lives in a grand house with big windows overlooking a park in one of London’s most desirable areas. One evening, her husband, Gabriel, returns home late from a fashion shoot, and Alicia shoots him five times in the face and then never speaks another word. Alicia’s refusal to talk, or give any kind of explanation, turns a domestic tragedy into something far grander, a mystery that captures the public imagination and casts Alicia into notoriety.

Y'know how, sometimes, you can call a mystery book in the first chapter? This one's not like that! While there's definitely a feeling that something is off / unreliable during the novel, it's not super easy to see the pieces click into place and, when they do, it makes a whole lot of sense. Loved this and can't wait to read what the author comes up with next!

This One's for the Hallmark Lovers!
Revisado: 10-27-19
This book is sweet! The plot was cozy, the characters were likable, and it was the perfect read for staying in on a chilly fall evening. The majority of the novel was super charming but, towards the end, it did fall a little flat for me. A few of the plot lines were left dangling and, as they could have been tied up in a few sentences or (at most) an extra chapter, the ending felt somewhat cheesy. This isn't my favorite Christina Lauren novel but it's for sure worth the read - even with plot lines left untied, this felt like a fun Hallmark movie in the shape of a book. Super cute!

Read This One!
Revisado: 12-05-18
This story is the sweetest! Hazel is so quirky and spunky and endearing and the story is so fun. Josh and Hazel both felt like real people instead of stereotypical book leads and the whole story was realistic and pretty dang beautiful, too. I loved it, loved the twists and turns, and loved how this book made me smile - and cry! - from beginning to end. It was great and definitely a must-read for anyone who loves contemporary romance! It freaking sparkles!
That said, the narration for this audiobook is awful and the male narrator really missed the mark. I listened to this while doing a project and decided to keep on listening because I got invested in the story early on but, honestly, I came pretty close to returning it partway through due to the performance. I'm glad I kept listening because the story was adorable but, if you're debating between reading or listening, I'd definitely skip the audiobook and go for a hard copy instead!

Revisado: 06-04-18
My five and seven year old boys LOVE this book! My husband read this (and the sequel) to our children recently and my five year old loves it so much that I snagged the audiobook for him! He listens to this book for hours at a time while playing in his room or coloring which is amazing - the kid loves to play hard so this book is so great to help him wind down and it's such a great break for me as well (ha!). We are huge Peter Brown fans at this house and could not recommend this audiobook enough!

Lovely Book; Underwhelming Narrator
Revisado: 06-04-18
Julianne Donaldson is an extremely talented writer and, from the first time I read this book, it was an automatic favorite! Edenbrooke is sunshine and romance and spark and drama and all the things you'd want in a regency era romance and, in written form, it's one of my go-to feel good books. On audio, though, it's underwhelming - the narrator's voice is super fluffy and childish and, while the story is sweet in and of itself, it becomes super saccharine when read by this specific narrator. I'd recommend this if you've read the book in written form first but, if you're looking at this for the first time, definitely go for the print version!

Ridiculous and Hilarious!
Revisado: 06-04-18
I'm a very casual watcher of The Bachelor - I watch a whole season every couple of years or so - but this book is the best!! Courtney is the most memorable Bachelor villain / winner and she's such a sassafras in this book! Courtney didn't hold back on gossiping at all and I loved all the tidbits she revealed about life on a reality show. If you love reality TV or love the behind the scenes tea on reality TV, I'd go for this!

Lucy Hutton has always been certain that the nice girl can get the corner office. She's charming and accommodating and prides herself on being loved by everyone at Bexley & Gamin. Everyone except for coldly efficient, impeccably attired, physically intimidating Joshua Templeman. And the feeling is mutual. Trapped in a shared office together 40 (ok, 50 or 60) hours a week, they've become entrenched in an addictive, ridiculous never-ending game of one-upmanship.

Such a fun and sassy book!
Revisado: 06-04-18
I love a good romance book but really love sassy and funny romance books. This one knocked it out of the park! The characters are totally believable and super cheeky and hilarious. This book often made me laugh out loud - or, at the very least, crack a huge smile - and it was a great way to pass the time while working at home! Super cute!
Definitely recommend this to anyone wanting something to listen to while working at home or running errands around town! It's a fun one!

Ann Rule was working on the biggest story of her career, tracking the trail of victims left by a brutal serial killer. Little did this future best-selling author know that the savage slayer she was hunting was the young man she counted among her closest friends. Everyone's picture of a natural winner, Ted Bundy was a bright, charming, and handsome man with a promising future as an attorney. But on January 24, 1989 Bundy was executed for the murders of three young women - and had confessed to taking the lives of at least thirty-five more women from coast to coast.

Classic True Crime
Revisado: 06-04-18
This book is fascinating! Ted Bundy is such a studied serial killer and, while I thought I knew a lot about him before I read this, this book was super eye opening and creepy. This book documents Bundy's crimes in detail without being overly garish, has awesome accounts of the (very few) victims who survived, and left me wanting to research more about Bundy once I finished the book. I recommend this book to all of my true crime loving friends who mostly listen to podcasts or watch forensic shows - it's a great introductory crime book, particularly because the author knew Bundy. Definitely worth a credit!
P.S. I recommend this book all the time but rated it four stars because, as awesome as this book is, sometimes it gets a little sluggish / bogged down with Rule's introspection. She's an incredible true crime writer but is occasionally a little off putting. That could have been the narrator, though!

THIS. IS. SO. GOOD.
Revisado: 06-04-18
I listen to so many audiobooks / read so many books of all different genres and this one was such a gem! I usually predict mystery books fairly early on but this one kept me guessing until the reveal and led me to so many different theories as I was reading. I also got totally wrapped in both storylines - I never felt like skimming through one to get to the other - and loved all of the small reveals and mysteries along the way. I've read lots of Lauren Willig's work and she just gets better and better. READ THIS!!
