If you want a brief synopsis of Jimmy Stewart’s life, this is not it. Although I loved a lot of detail, and thoughtfulness in recounting the events of his life, it was way too long in the beginning with many words and ramblings about Indiana, Pennsylvania etc. Otherwise, this account of Jimmy Stewart’s life does not fail to fill in a few holes that some fans might have and is worth the read.

Historia
Princess Sun has finally come of age. Growing up in the shadow of her mother, Eirene, has been no easy task. The legendary queen-marshal did what everyone thought impossible: expel the invaders and build Chaonia into a magnificent republic, one to be respected - and feared. But the cutthroat ambassador corps and conniving noble houses have never ceased to scheme - and they have plans that need Sun to be removed as heir, or better yet, dead. To survive, the princess must rely on her wits and companions: her biggest rival, her secret lover, and a dangerous prisoner of war.

Confusing timeframes and characters
Revisado: 12-13-21
I read / listen to A LOT of sci-fi / fantasy books! I tried to listen to this one three separate times, thinking that my inability to follow the jumps from one scene/ character's storyline to another was all about me. Finally after 2 hours I just gave up! The narrator, Natalie Naudus, was superb (and is the reason I listened to this in the first place) but the story isn't easy to follow with all the abrupt changes so I found myself tuning it out instead of being enraptured. So sad...

Great narration, twist & story-lots of MA language
Revisado: 01-24-20
This is the first time I have listened to an Evan Grace novel, so I'm not sure if all her writing is as F word focused, or with so much sexual perspective from the male's point of view. However, the story line was well written, and I loved how each chapter spoke from one character's viewpoint. The ending was a total surprise, and it's hard to surprise me! I usually figure things out near the beginning so that's a well done, Ms Grace! As for the language and male "perspective" I'm not a prude, but think it's important to leave a review letting others know that if knowing every second that a guy's appendage is hard is not your thing, or hearing the F word in..every...single...sentence.. isn't your preference, be forewarned. The narrator, Natalie Naudus Bradner did an awesome job separating the characters' voices and imparting depth to their character.

Historia
Can a young war correspondent find herself and follow her heart? In this work of historical fiction, 20-something Annabella “Annie” March arrives in France in 1944 intending to write about the war. Soon, however, Annie begins to distance herself from her sometimes-mentor, sometimes-rival - the great Martha Gellhorn - and Gellhorn’s larger-than-life husband, the novelist Ernest Hemingway. She turns to photography in the hopes of making her own name and, to her delight, discovers that images come more easily than words.

Great balance of history and fiction
Revisado: 12-22-19
This was a free title for me to read with the carrot on the end of the stick being a fictional story based on WWII. Having grown up in Belgium during my youth, I was attracted to the French title, Pont Neuf, subject matter and setting, of course, but imagine my joy at finding out that part of the story was centered around the Battle of the Bulge in the Ardennes. The story does well at recounting the experiences of a woman "war" reporter in Paris and Belgium and her relationship with two men as they weave in and out of war duties. The story is very realistic and treats the relationships with respect and authenticity as some less-known tidbits of history facts are revealed. As a fluent, almost native French speaker, I was interested in how the narrator dealt with the plethora of French locations and expressions. She did very well with a few errors, but honestly I've heard worse and am grateful for her commendable attention to accuracy! Her cadence isn't my preference, but I can't say it was bad - just not my preferred way of hearing a story with multiple characters and genders. Another hidden gem in this tale is a side story involving Ernest Hemingway and his wife which added interestingness to the narrative.

In this charming and sweet solo performance, Wally investigates what is causing a number of strange events and occurrences. He explores and gets lost within space-time - an infinite, indefinable, and mysterious void that you can’t see but when you slice into it you can feel it.

WARNING TO PARENTS - but GREAT NARRATION and story
Revisado: 09-05-19
The warning to parents needs to be up front with this book. There is definitely foul language and not just a little, but hard core stuff. That said, the story premise is great, the narration with different narrators and some sound effects are entertaining, and it's not your typical plot.

Poor audio quality and narration.
Revisado: 06-26-19
This is a poignant and engaging story about horrible events that took place before and during part of the holocaust but the audio quality sounds like the narrator was recording without a microphone, in a non-soundproof room. I had to turn my headphones up all the way to hear. Plus he narrated with no voice character changes, emotion or much change of cadence...kind of like a first time dad reading to his child hoping that the story would hurry up and be over so that he could get back to his football game. I've already heard the sequel and am grateful for the change in narrators!

Well narrated & realistic view of life and faith
Revisado: 03-15-19
The excellent narration by Natalie Naudus really brought this story to life for me, and her Spanish accent was great! (as a linguist of several languages, I'm pretty picky). Her pace of narrating was slow when it needed to be slow and sped up at crucial times when necessary. I felt like she really understood what the author was trying to convey and was able to interpret it all perfectly. As to the story, it's a book that shines a small light on realistic living situations within our country's poor inner-city children, foster care, and relationships. I loved Onuorah's development of the characters and the way you could see inside their minds. Also, the gentle and respectful way she treated faith in this story is a breath of fresh air in today's world. Although the topic at the beginning of child abuse is hard, the way of redemption brought about by the end of the story is unpredictable, and worth the read..

Great narrator and main character
Revisado: 11-05-17
Recognitions is a great title, and a wonderful read! The ending was awesome and well worth the wait. It's touted as a spiritual book, which is due to the subject of reincarnation, necessary to make the story line fit together. I enjoyed the way Ms Norris developed her story over several time frames, and dealt with autism and historical fiction in an entertaining way. Having an autistic main character of the book thrilled me as well! I have several autistic friends and was encouraged at Ms Norris' respectful and insightful portrayal of him as a responsible man deserving of love! The icing on the cake was hearing Natalie Naudus Bradner's voice doing different characters. It really helped the story come alive for me.
