Historia
Joe Pitt's life sucks. He hasn't had a case or a job in God knows how long, and his stashes are running on empty. What stashes? The only ones that count to a guy like Joe: blood and money. The money he uses to buy blood; the blood he drinks. Hey, it's that or your neck, buddy.

Great book, but he cover that Audible uses is embarrassing. The narrator grew on my in the second book. A little predictable, kind of simple, but engrossing.

The writing was great, so was the narration. The subject just wasn't there. I can't put my finger on it?

ThIs is basically about drinking. The author is pretty funny, and the main character is likable. But something was missing.

It was well worth the discount price. Pretty good detective story. Not wildly realistic though.

In the monsoon season of 1968-69 at a fire support base called Matterhorn, located in the remote mountains of Vietnam, a young and ambitious Marine lieutenant wants to command a company to further his civilian political ambitions. But two people stand in his way.

Although it was no "Naked and the Dead"' it was great. It starts off a little slowly, you should get absorbed. Definitely worth a credit.

Historia
James Stark, a.k.a. Sandman Slim, crawled out of Hell, took bloody revenge for his girlfriend’s murder, and saved the world along the way. After that, what do you do for an encore? You take a lousy job tracking down monsters for money. It’s a depressing gig, but it pays for your beer and cigarettes. But in L.A., things can always get worse. Like when Lucifer comes to town to supervise his movie biography and drafts Stark as his bodyguard.

Revisado: 02-19-11
I don't know if was just better production or the narrator was better this time, but it was better than the first book. That is pretty rare, but the book was very good. Definitely worth a credit.

Good book, bad choice of narrator
Revisado: 02-19-11
I should have read the actual novel. Scott Brick does a poor New York accent, he is just too classy and nerdy for the characters in this book. But the story is very good, and still worth a credit.

To Paul Christopher, the world of espionage had become a region of the mad, in which men and women lived without conviction and were compelled by a craving for conspiracy. But now, he has to find the "mole" in the Outfit and demand justice from enemies, past and present. As he follows the twisting path of this secret American intelligence group, he discovers a trail of betrayal and violence that leads backward to the horrors of the Nazi era and plunges forward beyond the Vietnam War's labyrinth of lies.

Written before "The Company"
Revisado: 12-27-08
Multi generational CIA book, definitely influenced Littell's "The Company"
Although the Company is a better book, Mccarry deserves credit. There aren't many good writers in this genre, so you have to take what you can get. None of these guys compares to Alan Furst, LeCarre's first "Call for the Dead" was his best, still no where near Furst.

I'm not very familiar with the many authors who collaborated to write this book. But I would have to imagine that most of them are women. Not a terrible book, just written by women for women. Also alittle disjointed, but what do you expect with 34 authors?

Very Good Book
Revisado: 01-16-08
I will make this simple for you. Excellent George R.R. Martin clone, and when he got stuck for ideas (or was too close to having the same exact story line as GRRM), he borrows some Robert Jordan.
This is still a very good book, just dont be suprised when you notice the glaring similarities. And no, its not "just you"....its totaly like Game of Thrones, with an attack of Aiel led by Manse Raider thrown in for good measure. LOL
