Historia
Arthur Dent's accidental association with that wholly remarkable book, The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, has not been entirely without incident.Arthur has traveled the length, breadth, and depth of known, and unknown, space. He has stumbled forward and backward through time. He has been blown up, reassembled, cruelly imprisoned, horribly released, and colorfully insulted more than is strictly necessary.

Historia
It’s easy to get disheartened when your planet has been blown up, the woman you love has vanished due to a misunderstanding about space/time, the spaceship you are on crashes on a remote and Bob-fearing planet, and all you have to fall back on are a few simple sandwich-making skills. However, instead of being disheartened, Arthur Dent makes the terrible mistake of starting to enjoy life a bit–and immediately all hell breaks loose.

I love Martin Freeman as the narrator for all of these books. This was not my favorite book in this series, but I am glad I listened to it.

Historia
Back on Earth with nothing more to show for his long, strange trip through time and space than a ratty towel and a plastic shopping bag, Arthur Dent is ready to believe that the past eight years were all just a figment of his stressed-out imagination. But a gift-wrapped fishbowl with a cryptic inscription, the mysterious disappearance of Earth’s dolphins, and the discovery of his battered copy of The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy all conspire to give Arthur the sneaking suspicion that something otherworldly is indeed going on.

Historia
Anna Kendrick's autobiographical collection of essays amusingly recounts memorable moments throughout her life, from her middle-class upbringing in New England to the blockbuster movies that have made her one of Hollywood's most popular actresses today. Expanding upon the witty and ironic dispatches for which she is known, Anna Kendrick's essays offer her one-of-a-kind commentary on the absurdities she's experienced on her way to and from the heart of pop culture.

Revisado: 12-28-17
This is a very enjoyable book to listen to. I had read it before and definitely felt more impact from reading it than it being read to me. The performance is decent. The male narrator, Michael Kramer, mispronounced some words and that drove me bonkers. I also was not very drawn in by his perfomance of the characters. The female narrator, Kate Reading, I have listened to before and am always extremely pleased with. As I was with the few sections she covered in this audio book.

Historia
Hatshepsut - the daughter of a general who usurped Egypt's throne and a mother with ties to the previous dynasty - was born into a privileged position in the royal household, and she was expected to bear the sons who would legitimize the reign of her father's family. Her failure to produce a male heir was ultimately the twist of fate that paved the way for her improbable rule as a cross-dressing king.

I very much enjoyed this book. Very informative and well read. I enjoyed that the author did her best to stick to the truth of the story and not confuse facts with her own opinions. Hatshepsut was an amazing woman, even if knowledge of much of her life is largely unknown.

Historia
This is the story of a man who said that he would stop the motor of the world - and did. Is he a destroyer or a liberator? Why does he fight his hardest battle not against his enemies, but against the woman he loves? Tremendous in scope, breathtaking in its suspense, Atlas Shrugged is Ayn Rand's magnum opus and launched an ideology and a movement. With the publication of this work in 1957, Rand gained an instant following and became a phenomenon.

Down Right Painful.
Revisado: 05-06-17
Do not. I repeat, DO NOT download the unabridged version. This book is dry and torturous. Don't drag out the experience. I have never had so much trouble just listening to a book. I am so glad I did not decide to read this one of my own accord. The characters are mostly unlikeable, unrelatable and semi-shallow. The story could be good if Ayn Rand would get off her high horse, stop talking down at the world and just get to the point. I know she wrote a book for the world in the era that she was living in, but dear lord! What a high opinion she had of her own intellect. She talks down to the audience several times a chapter. I have no idea how this became a classic... other than it's anti-government message.
My best advice? Walk away and don't look back.

Historia
Her palace shimmered with onyx, garnets, and gold, but was richer still in political and sexual intrigue. Above all else, Cleopatra was a shrewd strategist and an ingenious negotiator. Though her life spanned fewer than forty years, it reshaped the contours of the ancient world. She was married twice, each time to a brother. She waged a brutal civil war against the first when both were teenagers. She poisoned the second. In a masterly return to the classical sources, Stacy Schiff here boldly separates fact from fiction to rescue the magnetic queen whose death ushered in a new world order.

I enjoyed the contender very much. I learned quite a bit and still feel like I only know a little bit more than I did at the outset. which is a good thing. I had not realized how tumultuous the world was during the time of Cleopatra.
