Good story - Bad narration
Revisado: 04-17-23
The story was great! However the narration was terrible. I am a Nevadan and narrator mispronounced our state's name on ALL three books as well as very animated. Read with no feeling. Ugh!

Loved the Story! Did not like narration.
Revisado: 01-14-23
I LOVE Freida McFadden books! All the twist and suspense. I did not care for the narration of this particular book though. It was a struggle listening to the book because of this, however I did love the story and of course the ending.

Historia
"Marley was dead to begin with...." These chillingly familiar words begin the classic Christmas tale of remorse and redemption in A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens. Now R. William Bennett rewinds the story and focuses the spotlight on Scrooge’s miserly business partner, Jacob T. Marley, who was allowed to return as a ghost to warn Scrooge away from his ill-fated path. Why was Marley allowed to return? And why hadn’t he been given the same chance as Ebenezer Scrooge? Or had he?

A Must if You Love A Christmas Carol
Revisado: 12-11-20
I loved this! It answered so many questions that I had from A Christmas Carol about Jacob Marley. I thought the narration was perfect. I marked this as one of my favorites in my own library.

Historia
Sophie Appersett is quite willing to marry outside of her class to ensure the survival of her family. But the darkly handsome Mr. Edward Sharpe is no run-of-the-mill London merchant. He's grim and silent. A man of little emotion - or perhaps no emotion at all. After two months of courtship, she's ready to put an end to things. But severing ties with her taciturn suitor isn't as straightforward as Sophie envisioned.

The narrator on this book was not my cup of tea!
Revisado: 12-09-20
The story line was okay but the narrator drove me crazy with his rising intonation at the end of any and all utterances. I finally gave up and went to on to another book.

Holly’s escape is to submerge herself in the lives of the two young boys next door and their widowed father, Archie.

Good story with the exception "HE SAID" "SHE SAID"
Revisado: 09-19-20
I loved the story but towards the end when the narrator kept reading the "he said" and then "she said" it got ridiculous. With all the changes in voices you knew who was speaking so not sure why they felt the need to keep on with that! I almost stopped listening due to this. I like this author but if all of her books are read like this, no thank you.

Not for me!
Revisado: 12-26-19
I just couldn't get into this one. The story line was a bit weak and the romance was corny (just my opinion). I stopped listening after hearing several chapters.
