Slow burn but deliverers

She and her crew have traded the complexities of the Earth/Mars wars for the open hostility of a species that will shoot them on sight. Their anti-piracy mission has evolved. Rather than simply clearing the star lanes for peaceful merchants and civilian transports, they're going after an illicit trade in sentient laborers. It's all going fine until one of the traffickers they capture reveals the location of a black market space station that makes their own operation look like small potatoes.

At this point in the story we know the main players new and old and have a vested interest in them and what there doing. I hate that I’m caught up and having to check audible daily to see if the next book has been released on audio. Best world building and story telling of mine or the previous generation. Thank you.

The hook at the end of the story

Always a fun story, narration is top tier and I’m annoyed that I’m literally caught up on each and every story in the black ocean as of this moment. Going to go back and listen to one of the other Black Ocean anthologies while I wait for the next batch of passage of time to get an audio recording.

Character development, investment in story.

I originally had this in my library for a few months. I was not able to dive into a new universe and get invested and went through the first mission on auto pilot. Once I paid attention and knew the characters I was hooked. This is my second run through of galaxy outlaws and now moving onto mercy for hire again. Thanks to J.S. Morin for giving us such an engaging and amazing world to escape to.

Luke Daniel's is a phenomenal narrator. Bloopers had me Rofling. Story is entertaining and fun to listen to, going straight into the second book after this review is submitted.

I really wanted to like it, frustrating.

The book is better then the movie, if you enjoyed the movie this brings a bit more clarity to the story. that being said everything felt rushed and put in as an afterthought. the logic and flow of this story didn't add up for me and fell flat.
narration was great as always.
