Historia
Six days ago, astronaut Mark Watney became one of the first people to walk on Mars. Now, he's sure he'll be the first person to die there. After a dust storm nearly kills him and forces his crew to evacuate while thinking him dead, Mark finds himself stranded and completely alone with no way to even signal Earth that he's alive - and even if he could get word out, his supplies would be gone long before a rescue could arrive. Chances are, though, he won't have time to starve to death. The damaged machinery, unforgiving environment, or plainold "human error" are much more likely to kill him first.

Best science survival adventure EVER
Revisado: 08-15-15
This book started out as a listen for one adult but quickly became a listen for the whole family. Although there's quite a bit of swearing, it' was too good to keep from the kids. We were all sad to have the story end because we were part of the masses of earth population desperately rooting for Mark Watney. Thank you to Andy Weir for this amazing story.

Historia
The explosive conclusion to Nexus and Crux. Global unrest spreads through the US, China, and beyond. Secrets and lies set off shockwaves of anger, rippling from mind to mind. Riot police battle neutrally linked protestors. Armies are mobilized. Political orders fall. Nexus-driven revolution is in here. Against this backdrop a new breed of post-human children are growing into their powers.

Who directed this performance?
Revisado: 07-23-15
Any additional comments?
I have to assume that a voice actor is given the book with a team that would include, at least, a director. It's baffling that someone would choose to do such extreme Chinese accents including the heavy rolled 'l's. The sections of the story with Chinese characters speaking really just knock you out of the story - it's pretty uncomfortable and distracting. I like Stephanie Canon's voice and crisp pronunciation for most of the book but the accents are too much.
The story itself is good but I think that I would recommend reading the written book rather than listening to this audible performance.

Good story beneath all the sexual obsessiveness
Revisado: 07-10-14
Would you try another book from Piers Anthony and/or Traber Burns?
Perhaps - if I could avoid all the smarmy sexual references.
How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?
If someone abridged all of Piers Anthony's stories to remove the endless titillation and descriptions of female figures, I would enjoy his books. This stuff is like teasers for virgins, which is too bad, because the actual story concepts are very interesting. I wish I could recommend his books to my kids, but the never ending fascination with breasts is just ridiculous.
Have you listened to any of Traber Burns’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
Traber is not the right voice for these books. His voice is too mature and in books written from the perspective of a horny 15 year old boy, an older man's voice makes everything a bit creepier.
Was Split Infinity worth the listening time?
Not really - I would rather have read the book so I could have skipped over the drivel parts. Audio books are torture when parts of the book are great and others are teeth-grinding because you can't really skim through.
Any additional comments?
I wish I could handle the full series but I don't think I can. And I don't have time to sit and read the real books.
