These keep getting better and better
Revisado: 11-30-23
The story is getting better and better. The one-liners are amazing, and the production quality is fantastic. Can't wait to see how the 9th floor goes.

Historia
As management reels from the unexpected conclusion of the seventh level, the surviving crawlers stumble onto the eighth and find themselves scattered. It’s a map based on Earth’s final days before the collapse, where ethereal, intangible ghosts of humanity go about their lives, oblivious of the impending doom. Living amongst these ghosts are monsters based in Earth lore. “Legendary” creatures tied to the geographical location they inhabit. Each team of crawlers is given a task: Find and capture six of these beasts.

The problem with lying about having a super weapon is that the bad guys might believe they have nothing to lose by doing something stupid that both sides will regret. Or, they might just call your bluff. Either way, the Merry Band of Pirates need a plan to deal with the Fallout.

Future telling kills stories.
Revisado: 07-14-22
I really like this series, but just as the characters feel helpless and are saying, "what's the point, now?", so am I as a reader.
Is this series just about different characters flailing around from fight to fight? If future-telling is going to be such a big part of a overarching plot with zero hints that anything can be changed, it feels like I am just reading characters go through the motions, and I'm quickly losing interest. Adding future-telling into this story seems like more of a crutch or lazy way out of crafting an interesting and engaging overarching plot for the entire series. It feels like he is saying, "Well, the villain can see the future, so this is just how it is. No reason to spend any time on why this series exists or discuss where it is going."
The author's storytelling for each episode or scenario is solid and exciting, but the overall plot of the series is completely lost to me as a reader at this point. Speaking of lost, by the end of this book it reminded me of the tv show LOST. "That episode was exciting and interesting, but what is the actual point of anything going on here?" How did we get all the way to book 4 and this little time has been spent on the overarching plot? Did the author even know at this point or was he fumbling through the dark like his characters?

This narrator is killing my desire to finish the series.
Revisado: 01-26-22
I loved this series to this point. Ax Norman has made this unbearable. Audible needs to find another version with someone that will put the time and effort that this series deserves. I can't be the only one putting down the entire series because this guy ruins the middle.
