Should have been called "Ready Number Two"

This book was just a chore to get through. I loved the original. It's a classic. This though was trying to re-create too much of the original and it fell flat on every single note. It read as a bad parody of the original and just got worse as it kept going. Ready Player Two is nothing more than a steaming pile of Number Two.

A nice surprise

I never expected to hear another Mitch Rapp novel and as a fan of the originals I was obviously dubious that another writer was stepping in but Kyle Mills was utterly masterful in taking up the helm that if this was a blind taste test I'd have never known the difference. Kudos Kyle and I look forward to many more.

Variable audio doesn't distract too much

There are a LOT of areas in this book where the audio changes due to retakes. You'd think that wouldn't happen from an Audible studios title but it did. Still, amazing book! All Hail Bob!

Just what I needed!

I got this book on a whim from the recommendations pane because I needed a few hours to kill while cleaning my house this morning. It's now 6pm and I just finished the whole thing.

This book is fresh and fun and FUNNY! Great concepts and great execution and I can't wait for book 2! Definitely one of my new favorite authors.

I haven't been this excited about a new author since Daniel Suarez came on the scene with Daemon.

Not usually a zombie guy but this series is a lot of fun. I just wish whoever edited it did a better job. Lots of duplications of lines near the end that were very distracting. But all in all a great follow up to Ex-Heroes!

This is the second book this month that I've bought that has had podcast content tacked onto the end. This inflates the running time and makes you think you're getting more than you actually are. Any book that does this gets an immediate 1 star across the board. False advertising...

Great book I wish I had 25 years ago

This is an amazing book that sums up a lot of Stoicism with relatable stories and useful information. It's very akin to Robert Greene's books which makes sense since Ryan interned for him for a time. All of the stories are fantastic and the tips are all actionable and usable in everyday life while being entertaining to boot.

I generally hate author reads and this is not great but also not too bad. I listened at 1.25x which tightens up the performance without losing too much in the way of inflections.

A very annoying part of this audiobook though is that an hour and a half is an episode of the Tim Ferriss podcast that you can get on iTunes. That makes the book come in at roughly 4.5 hours if you don't want to listen to or have already heard that interview. I just wish that was in the description of the book.
