Wow! I read this originally on Kindle and was happy to discover the audiobook is available because listening to it was a perfect pick-me-up for a discouraging week. The main character goes through a lot of emotional growtth, like a delayed coming of age story with a lot of silly drama to keep it light.

Love the dialog and compled characters. The story explores interesting twists of family and romantic relationships in a setting that is completely different from most romance novels.

Would you consider the audio edition of Eleanor Oliphant Is Completely Fine to be better than the print version?

I haven't read it in print, only listened to it. One thing I would enjoy about the print version would be being able to look back and find a spot again because I kept wanted to reference back to a previous scene. I did love this narrator so I'm glad I discovered it on audio.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Eleanor Oliphant Is Completely Fine?

What I really enjoyed about this book is that the reader gets to learn along with Eleanor. Her emotional development has been severely delayed due to her life experiences and going through her experiences along with her is really a cool experience. I guess my favorite parts are when Raymond is very careful to help Eleanor understand something that is obvious to the reader and to him in a very gentle way that allows her to discover at her own speed. He is key in helping her by refusing to be offended when she is very prickly. She needed someone to stick with her and not back away in order to move on the next step.

What does Cathleen McCarron bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

This narrator is amazing. I really like the accents she uses and her voice. She has a great interpretation of the book and her timing is great -- pauses in the right places.

Who was the most memorable character of Eleanor Oliphant Is Completely Fine and why?

Eleanor, for sure, but Raymond is amazing as well.

What made the experience of listening to Cotillion the most enjoyable?
I love the way the narrator captures the personalities of each of the characters. Heyer is brilliant at characterization and Nash does a fabulous job of bringing each personality to life.

What other book might you compare Cotillion to and why?
I think that Georgette Heyer's romance novels are like Jane Austen's book, except with a wicked, quirky sense of humor and a bent for fashion. I can never figure out why Heyer isn't very well known and why I had never heard of her until I randomly picked up "False Colors" one day at the library. It started a lifetime addiction. I can't stand her mysteries or histories, though, but then I don't usually like mysteries, anyway.

Have you listened to any of Phyllida Nash’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
I look for books narrated by Nash because she is so good at making the characters real.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Oh, course!
