We listened to the whole thing at a whack driving Nevada to Wyoming. What amazing observations. I now have peaceful scuba diving with octopus, cuttlefish, and squid on my bucket list. I am so glad I don't eat them. They are a miracle that evolved parallel to humans. Review of scientific thought regarding sensory perception and experience of pain, sentience, consciousness, play, complex thought, plus great stories about octopus and cuttlefish lab subjects and observed in great detail by the author and other scientists in the wild... it gave me new perspective on the human sensory experience and new questions about the neurology and experience of people with autism and learning disabilities. it was factual but also poignant. it highlighted these miracles of creation and the hope that humans will understand their impact on the mother of us all, the oceans, as CO2 irreparably alters habitat and harms the miracles we can't even see, and ultimately our own food and oxygen supplies.

I was thrilled to find out there was some more space opera out there. I had been pretty sad when I read the last Vorkosigan book. I got some very enjoyable crochet and relaxation time from these- witty, just enough sci fi, neat characters, fun intrigue- murder, backstabbing, speculation about humanity centuries in the future, church v state. Wil Wheaton keeps it live up in this recorded book.

i enjoyed. good fun read for fans of sci fi / space opera. audible narration was kind of better than reading the book. that is unusual for me.

maybe the top 2, Dune being 1. Highly believable near future- perfect match between my understanding of today' science and politics and a fantastic rendering of a future where Earth is crowded bloated and lazy and still seeking to dominate and exploit every resource and human it can, throughout our solar system. complete with disastrous consequences of human greed. can't say enough good about these books.

The reader/ author contributes so much- not just timeline but the ethos surrounding Stevie Nicks and her musical peers and fans. This is a fast listen and would not be nearly as good in print or with a different narrator. I finish my listen with greater insight into the music and the era, heightened curiosity, and greater respect for Stevie Nicks than ever. The combination of whimsy, romance, creativity, hard work and persistence that is the Stevie Nicks of this bio is a worthwhile morality tale and musical tour for any listener and especially for the music lover or for others following their creativity or passion. This is an easy, enjoyable, very worthwhile listen.

Not what I expected after farthing sixpence ha'penny but very dear. I love Jo Walton so much. This is a coming of age story and a story of coming into one's own- injured and still strong and capable. I am a librarian and a book lover so I had to love it. But I will keep the true theme of it to myself, wouldn't want to spoil it for anyone. Lovely book. My only complaint- why would anyone leave South Wales? I'd give anything to be on the Gower or in the hills. Thank you Ms Walton. I am on to the next of your delights.

loved this book so much, both for its content and Kingsolver's voice. This book and Louise Erdrich's Future Home of the Living God are two books full of the signs of our times and the hand writing on the wall regarding where we as a society are headed, but they are beautifully written, never preachy, with rich complex characters and plots.

Loved this- very helpful fast easy intro. very much recommend working both in book and audible for pronuciation and spelling. The Welsh accent speaking English is beautiful and the narrator is witty. I personally am having to go through more than once but everyone learns differently and even at that this is an excellent quick resource.

Loved this book so very much. No sugar coating, but so much sweetness. The beloved main characters, the conflict, the mix of indigenous and Catholic lore and values in a corrupt Christian dystopia- so beautiful, and so appropriate for our time. Thank you Louise Erdrich. What a great gift.
