Historia
The Catenan Republic—the Hierarchy—may rule the world now, but they do not know everything. I tell them my name is Vis Telimus. I tell them I was orphaned after a tragic accident three years ago, and that good fortune alone has led to my acceptance into their most prestigious school. I tell them that once I graduate, I will gladly join the rest of civilized society in allowing my strength, my drive, and my focus—what they call Will—to be leeched away and added to the power of those above me, as millions already do. As all must eventually do.

Loved the story. There’s a bit of teenage angst, but it works in this context. Go ahead. Give it a listen.

Historia
Reidon Ward's first semester at the Galens Institute hasn't been without reward. In just over half a year he's gone from the weakest cadet at school to one of the strongest in his class, and there's no one left who would argue that his Device, Shido, isn't the most terrifying CAD they've ever laid eyes on. Still, Rei knows that his climb has barely begun, like he knows that the true fight is only just starting. After all… The Sectionals tournament has arrived. Rei, along with Aria, Viv, Catcher, and a couple unexpected squadmates, are about to face the first real battle of their careers.

Good story and Luke Daniels is amazing!
Revisado: 11-04-23
First of all, thank you Bryce O’Connor for a good long book. I do love to get my moneys worth and you truly delivered. I was wondering where you would go with bk2. Ray beat the bad guy last time so who will be the new bad guy? Great job on that. What happens to the rest of the characters from bk1? Yup, got that covered. And on top of that.. Luke Daniels is doing the narration. Just love his ability to do male and female voices. Teenage angst? There really isn’t much and BO has set the stage for a great series. I’m in!

Aren has lived by the rules all his life. He's never questioned it; that's just the way things are. But then his father is executed for treason, and he and his best friend, Cade, are thrown into a prison mine, doomed to work until they drop. Unless they can somehow break free.... But what lies beyond the prison walls is more terrifying still. Rescued by a man who hates him yet is oath-bound to protect him, pursued by inhuman forces, Aren slowly accepts that everything he knew about his world was a lie.

I listen to audio books all the time. I think this is the second time I have written a review. This book could do with one more edit. Some passages are a little long. Having said that, I loved it.

All the stable staff are accounted for, so who is the mystery victim?

Best written Felix Francis book
Revisado: 10-12-18
I have been a Dick Francis fan since Bonecrack. Dick never wrote 2 words when one would do. He used adverbs in a way that would have been annoying if it didn't so perfectly paint the picture. Felix has just written a book that, for me, comes very close. Good plot, interesting characters. Thanks

Historia
Karigan G’ladheon, running away from school, is traveling through a deep forest when a galloping horse pounds up to her, its rider impaled by two black-shafted arrows. With his dying breath, he tells her he is a Green Rider, one of the magical messengers of the King. Before he dies, he makes Karigan swear to deliver the message he’s carrying, and gives her his green coat, with the symbolic brooch of his office.

Make up your mind for heaven's sake
Revisado: 06-28-12
Is there anything you would change about this book?
I loved the beginning of the book. Karigan meets the dying messenger and takes on the job of delivering the message. The plot moves along at a great pace. Then it all gets way too high school for me. I wish I could have seen her character mature. As it is she goes from being willing to embrace the challenge, battles through so much danger and then.....just stops. What a disappointment.
What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)
The end of the book tells you this is just part one. I don't know that I'll go to part 2.
Have you listened to any of Ellen Archer’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
The narrator did a good job.
Could you see Green Rider being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?
I sincerely hope not. At least not without somebody editing all the high-school angst.
Any additional comments?
Karigan is bold and determined, She's afraid and unsure. She fights off a trained assassin because she's inhabited by a ghost. She's leaving, she's staying. She is a teenager but the savior of her world. She is too many things.
