Historia
Your success depends on how you think. "The main difficulty of thinking is confusion," writes Edward de Bono, long recognized as an international authority on conceptual thinking and on the teaching of thinking as a skill. "We try to do too much at once. Emotions, information, logic, hope, and creativity all crowd in on us. It is like juggling with too many balls." The solution? De Bono unscrambles the thinking process with his "six thinking hats":

The view point was okay. But too much Christianity. Also nothing groundbreaking or revolutionary. Kind of a waste of time imo.

Recruitment Day is here...if you fail, a loved one will die. For Lucian "Lucky" Spark, Recruitment Day means the Establishment, a totalitarian government, will force him to become one of five Recruits competing to join the ruthless Imposer task force. Each Recruit participates in increasingly difficult and violent military training for a chance to advance to the next level. Those who fail must choose an "Incentive" - a family member - to be brutally killed. If Lucky fails, he'll have to choose death for his only living relative: Cole, his four-year-old brother.

Chaos. Love. Death. What more could you ask for?
Revisado: 04-15-21
I wasn’t sure what to expect from this book, but it completely sucked me into its world. I loved the way it was written and felt the narrator was perfect for this book! It gave me everything I wanted. A dystopian world. Twist and turns. Gay romance. Death. Lots of death. Like, I don’t think I was expecting so much brutal death. And finally, an ending leaving me wanting more. I am so excited that I already have the second book and get to explore this incredibly written and developed world even further!

Amazing!!!
Revisado: 08-15-19
The Arcane Ascension series is one of my favorites! I wasn’t sure how the second book would be after I fell in love with the first. I had very high expectations and I wasn’t disappointed in the slightest!
The only thing I hate is how the author is only 10% of the way through the first draft of the third book. Because of course I had to follow Andrew Rowe’s blog for every status update. Pure torcher!

Cute but could be better
Revisado: 11-25-18
I liked the overall story. I thought it was cute and I liked the characters. However, I didn’t like how short it was. I wish there was more development and story. I felt like because it was so short, things moved way to quickly and jumped over some potential story lines.
As for the voice actor.. if I wasn’t in the mood for a sappy gay Christmas romance story, I would have not made it past the first minute. He tried doing this whole sexy voice thing the entire time and it didn’t work. Then his voice for any female character! What the heck was that?? I wish I read this instead of listening to it because I may have enjoyed it more.

Historia
Two years after a terrifying night of pain destroyed his normal teenage existence, Aaron Downing still clings to the hope that one day, he will be a fully functional human being. But his life remains a constant string of nightmares, flashbacks, and fear. When, in his very first semester of college, he’s assigned Spencer Thomas as a partner for his programming project, Aaron decides that maybe “normal” is overrated. If he could just learn to control his fear, that could be enough for him to find his footing again.

Holy Crap!
Revisado: 05-17-18
This book was intense! It had some triggers that I wasn’t prepared for because I didn’t look at comments or really look at what it was about too much. But besides the occasional panic attack, this book was really well written. I would say, if you are not at a state mentally where you can handle scenes involving rape or physical violence, you should not read this book! But if you are not worried about triggers, I highly recommend this. Be prepared to cry.

Historia
All Rath wants is a quiet, peaceful life. Unfortunately, his father brings him too much trouble - and too many debts to pay - for that to ever be possible. When the local crime lord drags Rath out of bed and tells him he has three days to pay his father's latest debt, Rath doesn't know what to do. There's no way to come up with so much money in so little time. Then a friend poses an idea just ridiculous enough to work: enter the Tournament of Losers, where every 75 years, peasants compete for the chance to marry into the noble and royal houses.

Worth the read/listen
Revisado: 04-08-18
Overall, I really enjoyed this book, but there was one thing that upset me. Being careful not to give away anything, my biggest problem with this book was how it felt like it was missing a chapter between 12 and 13. During the weary traveler challenge, the book skips over most of the actual challenge. It eventually briefly talks about what happened, but I really wish it didn’t skip ahead and went into details of what transpired. I actually had to pause the book and google things to make sure I had the whole audio downloaded. But other then that one part, the overall bosom was great and definitely worth the time! Just be prepared for that moment in the book.
