Comecei a ouvir este livro e não conseguia parar! São dois gêneros em um: tem o relato emocionante da vida da escritora e tem os insights dela como paciente e psicóloga. Maravilhoso, recomendo muito! Narração excelente!

Historia
On The Power of Vulnerability, Dr. Brown offers an invitation and a promise - that when we dare to drop the armor that protects us from feeling vulnerable, we open ourselves to the experiences that bring purpose and meaning to our lives. Here she dispels the cultural myth that vulnerability is weakness and reveals that it is, in truth, our most accurate measure of courage.

Best self help audiobook I've ever heard. I feel like there's so much to take in, I'll have to listen to it a few more times in order to absorb all the great teachings Brene gives us.

Great writing, excellent narration

The last chapters of the book ended up surprising me, even after I thought I had everything figured out. I liked the almost poetic way it ends.

Great book, but be prepared to suffer for the characters

The book is incredibly well written, but I honestly bought it because of the author and didn't know it talked about war. Only listen if you can take the pain it describes without affecting your state of mind.

Historia
The relentless pursuit of high self-esteem has become a virtual religion - and a tyrannical one at that. Our ultracompetitive culture tells us we need to be constantly above average to feel good about ourselves, but there is always someone more attractive, successful, or intelligent than we are. And even when we do manage to grab hold of high self-esteem for a brief moment, we can't seem to keep it. Our sense of self-worth goes up and down like a ping-pong ball, rising and falling in lockstep with our latest success or failure.

Great book, not so great narration
Revisado: 11-07-17
It is not easy to impress me when it comes to self-help books, I usually feel like I had already thought about all of that and nothing will work, but this book managed to provide a few insights that I hadn't have and I actually think the technique it presents is easy to implement and effective. I just purchased the written book to re-read it paying more attention. I don't like the narration though. However, if you don't focus on it, it doesn't ruin the experience. It is actually a good training of focusing on the positive side, if you think about it!
