Historia
When level-headed Francie arrives in Roswell, New Mexico, for her college roommate’s UFO-themed wedding—complete with a true-believer bridegroom—she can’t help but roll her eyes at all the wide-eyed talk of aliens, which obviously don’t exist. Imagine her surprise, then, when she is abducted by one. Odder still, her abductor is far from what the popular media have led her to expect, with a body like a tumbleweed and a mass of lightning-fast tentacles. Nor is Francie the only victim of the alien’s abduction spree.

Fun story from a great author

I wasn’t sure what to expect from this story and was surprised by the unique descriptions of the aliens. It was a fun ride.

Historia
All the stories in this collection from Stephen King are related to the Vietnam War. King fans will recognize echoes of The Dark Tower series in the collection's first story, "Low Men in Yellow Coats." As the characters develop over the next four stories, King's version of the Vietnam War becomes one of his most frightening tales ever.

Not a standalone novel
Revisado: 01-17-23
I first read this book when it came out and found it confusing and disjointed. The second time through, reading it as part of The Dark Tower series made a huge difference for me and provided me with the understanding I missed my first time through many years ago.

Great Time Travel Detective series
Revisado: 09-18-22
I absolutely love the In Times Like These Time Travel series. This detective series is a spin off from the original books. It is done in classic detective series style with a time travel twist. I previously read the Kindle versions of the books and really enjoyed them so was glad to see this combined set. It was a great listen and just as good the second time through. These books are standalone so it isn’t necessary to read the original series to understand what is going on. Still, I recommend starting with In Times Like These and then reading/listening to this series to get the most out of it.

Great time travel story
Revisado: 06-07-21
Great story, great narration. The story is set in the “In Times Like These” universe which is one of the best time travel series I’ve ever read. This is a spin-off detective story and hopefully the first of many Greyson Travers stories.

Ok but a bit predictable
Revisado: 12-14-20
The story had a few twists but in the end was a bit too predictable and not very realistic. But then it is fiction. I didn’t have as much of an issue with the narrator as others. I think that is because I listen to books at 1.3 speed since most narrators read a lot slower than I like. The male roles were a bit slow even at 1.3 speed but were ok.

Historia
When Kate Pierce-Keller’s grandmother gives her a strange blue medallion and speaks of time travel, sixteen-year-old Kate assumes the old woman is delusional. But it all becomes horrifyingly real when a murder in the past destroys the foundation of Kate’s present-day life. Suddenly, that medallion is the only thing protecting Kate from blinking out of existence. Kate learns that the 1893 killing is part of something much more sinister, and her genetic ability to time travel makes Kate the only one who can fix the future.

Great first novel!
Revisado: 02-18-14
Really fun read from a new author. I received the book for free as a Kindle First promotion which is part of the Prime membership benefits. I wasn't sure what to expect but was glad to see that there was also an Audible version available. I'm a huge fan of Whispersync and constantly go back and forth between the Audible and Kindle versions. Using the two formats, I started and finished the book in a single weekend and can't wait to read more from this author.
The history in the story is well researched, the time travel paradoxes are thoroughly thought out, and the characters are well developed. And who can go wrong with a book with Princess Bride references. ;)
Kate Rudd is quickly becoming one of my favorite narrators. Check out her performances in the Muirwood series and The Summer Man for more good listens.

Historia
On November 22, 1963, three shots rang out in Dallas, President Kennedy died, and the world changed. What if you could change it back? In this brilliantly conceived tour de force, Stephen King - who has absorbed the social, political, and popular culture of his generation more imaginatively and thoroughly than any other writer - takes listeners on an incredible journey into the past and the possibility of altering it.

Stephen King at his storytelling best!
Revisado: 01-13-12
Stephen King does it again. Yes, the book is long and wordy but that has always been Stephen King's style is you think back to the Stand and the early Gunslinger novels. Anyone who wants an edited version should wait for an abridged version. For me, the descriptive nature of King's writing is one of the things I love. He knows how to draw a picture in the mind far better than any movie can.
The narrator was good, although a few of the character voices were a bit annoying. Fortunately, it was mostly on characters that had bit roles to play in the overall story.
