Historia
It is 1934. Red-headed Henry Cook, fresh out of Amherst and excited about working on his first book at an infamous writers' colony, arrives at the Vermont island retreat at the invitation of its owner, Thaddeus Hulbert, a boisterous, bellowing, bloviated curmudgeon, whose reputation as a novelist, columnist, and radio commentator has vaulted him to national prominence.

I LOVED this book
Revisado: 04-05-17
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Yes, Although you do have to have a certain taste. This book is of a certain time and makes you feel as if you've stepped into the past
What was one of the most memorable moments of Entirely Surrounded?
Every time Henry meets someone. Seeing the world through Henry's eyes. A world I would love to experience. I love a book that makes me feel as if I've gone back in time and being from the West Coast I loved the whole Vermont / East Coast feeling. I don't care if I don't know who all the inside jokes are about I feel like I do. This book made me feel like I was a part of that world. That to me is what a great book does transports me away so I completely forget all stresses.
What does C. James Moore bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
I confess that I'm already a fan of C. James Moore. He excels in characterizations and that's so evident in this book. I listened to this book every evening before going to sleep and I actually forgot he was there I was so involved in the story and people. That's what a great narrator does, tells the story so well that you forget they're telling it. He completely brought each character to life.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
No I don't like to listen in one sitting. I like to take my time and enjoy each audiobook (the good ones at least) and this audiobook was lovely. I wish it had been longer. Truly enjoyable.
Any additional comments?
This book reminded me of one of the ones we used to find in my grandmothers 'rumpus room' it felt like I'd unearthed a treasure from another time. I could tell the narrator loved what he was narrating. Wonderful book narrated beautifully!

Historia
When a veteran cop tries to arrest baseball's home run king, one of them ends up on trial and the other one ends up dead. A routine stakeout is almost over when Dave Mackno decides to pursue a speeding Porsche. It's a decision that will have deadly consequences. That's because the Porsche is being driven by Remo Centrella, baseball's home run king, who is half-drunk and at the tail-end of a steroid cycle that makes him think he's bulletproof.

Really Loved this audiobook
Revisado: 09-16-16
Would you listen to Hallways in the Night again? Why?
I would have a hard time listening again only because it's the type of book that you listen to to find out what's going to happen. It's a thriller so meant for one gripping listen/read.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Hallways in the Night?
The entire court case. I used to work in a Legal environment so although I found it uncomfortable to read it was very well portrayed.
Which character – as performed by Steven Jay Cohen – was your favorite?
I can't pick. I have to confess to being biased because I'm already a really big fan of Steven Jay Cohen having listened to a series he did earlier and also having been given a copy of this as a gift but I would simply love to be able to tell a story like he does. Steven made the narration disappear and there was nothing between me and the characters each one completely believable.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
Some of the corruption is a little uncomfortable because it's a little too true.
Any additional comments?
Both the author and the narrator were exceptional. I'm a big fan of thrillers not so much of Legal Thrillers though but this one really held my interest.
