Historia
Julián Luna has a plan for his life: Graduate. Get into UCLA. And have the chance to move away from Corpus Christi, Texas, and the suffocating expectations of others that have forced Jules into an inauthentic life. Then in one reckless moment, with one impulsive tweet, his plans for a low-key nine months are thrown - literally - out the closet. The downside: the whole world knows, and Jules has to prepare for rejection. The upside: Jules now has the opportunity to be his real self. Then Mat, a cute, empathetic Twitter crush from Los Angeles, slides into Jules’s DMs.

Historia
Frenemies Whit and Zay have been at odds for years (ever since he broke up with her in, like, the most embarrassing way imaginable), so when they’re forced to organize the fall formal together, it's a literal disaster. Sparks fly as Whitney—type-A, passionate, a perfectionist, and a certified sweater-weather fanatic—butts heads with Zay, a dry, relaxed skater boy who takes everything in stride. But not all of those sparks are bad....

The perfect YA for Fall
Revisado: 12-01-23
Super cute ya that follows Whit Rivera in her senior year of High School. The summer before school starts she is diagnosed with PCOS and we are taken through the journey of managing and learning about this new change in her life. This book has a broad spectrum of representation with queer characters (Whit herself is Bi), characters with type 1 diabetes, autism and much more. If you’re a fan of PSLs and Gilmore Girls this one is for you!

Historia
Drawing on a wealth of untapped archival materials and the reports of generations of family members - mayors, judges, scholars, diplomats, and journalists - The Hundred Years' War on Palestine upends accepted interpretations of the conflict, which tend, at best, to describe a tragic clash between two peoples with claims to the same territory. Instead, Khalidi traces a hundred years of colonial war on the Palestinians, waged first by the Zionist movement and then Israel, but backed by Britain and the United States, the great powers of the age.

A must read!
Revisado: 11-16-23
Rashid Khalidi does a great job with outlining the series of events that led up to the Israeli occupation of Palestine from a first person narrative while also maintaining an academic standpoint. The book is divided into 6 sections and clearly states the research based information of the injustice Palestinians have been enduring for the last hundred years.

Her people are delighted, for all remember the tales of the days when dragons lived among them and danced away the storms of autumn, enabling the people to thrive. To them, Anequs is revered as Nampeshiweisit—a person in a unique relationship with a dragon.

Unreal! I need more!!
Revisado: 11-11-23
I started reading this with a physical copy and ended up also purchasing this audio version so I could continue the story in times I could not physically read!
Moniquill Blackgoose completely enchanted me with this unexpected dystopian story of a world of alchemy and dragons! It’s hard to believe that this is her first book.
To quickly sum this up primarily this is a fantasy story of a young native girl Anequs who finds a dragon egg. Upon its hatching the dragon soon bonds with Anequs and they are sent to a formal academy where they are set to learn all things dragon training and alchemy. This coming of age story has adventure, queer rep, positive polyamory rep, feminism, mythology, and romance.

Historia
Felix Love has never been in love — and, yes, he’s painfully aware of the irony. He desperately wants to know what it’s like and why it seems so easy for everyone but him to find someone. What’s worse is that, even though he is proud of his identity, Felix also secretly fears that he’s one marginalization too many — Black, queer, and transgender — to ever get his own happily-ever-after.

Revisado: 06-05-23
I knew I was going to thoroughly enjoy this queer coming of age contemporary…. What I didn’t know was that through Felix’s discovery of identity, I was also going to discover something about my own identity that would change my life. I’m so thankful to the authors that are out there writing these stories, the ones I can identify with 🌈💕✨

Historia
I'm in the business of creating fairy tales. Theme parks. Production companies. Five-star hotels. Everything could be all mine if I renovated Dreamland. My initial idea of hiring Zahra was good in theory, but then I kissed her. Things spiraled out of control once I texted her using an alias. By the time I realized where I went wrong, it was too late. People like me don't get happy endings. Not when we're destined to ruin them.

I’ve been ROBBED!
Revisado: 02-10-23
Whoever recommended this book to me…. I want my time back, I want my money back, and this series is coming off my TBR!
This series was so over hyped and I was GREATLY disappointed…
Where do I even start?
The characters were immature
Instalust (to cover up a lack of story/relationship development)
FMC lacks depth and the potential for her backstory was there but fell short.
The Disneyland comparison was a little cringe. It’s really not that bad but I personally did enjoy the theme park backdrop.
This was just a no for me. I’m going to pass on the rest of the series too.
